Hot Dogger vs Il Moro

Hey guys im looking to get new boots this year and ive pretty much narrowed it down to these two. Ive done a lot of research, been to bootfitters and tried on boots to get a feel of what im looking for, i know like my size and stuff like that. Basically i want the wrap around heat moldable liner which both of these have. But i just want to get some insight from people who have ridden either of these boots or know a lot about them.

I love my Full Tilt Konflicts, I'd go with the FT's if they both fit.

if they both fit really well i would go with il moro's just because i have some friends in full tilts, and their warrenty is a bitch. and il moro's i beleive have a shell the conforms with the liner when you mold it so the liner molds to the shell and to your foot. which sounds dope. unfortunatly i cant rock either. haha

And the warranty is fine.  Its all done through k2 now anyway.

as for the warrenty, you cant send you boots to them at all. you have to send them to the place where you bought them. which can turn into a problem. my buddy sent his back and it took 6 months to get them back. and they broke after like 2 or weeks of skiing. ime not bashing FT, ime just giving you the facts

well both are super adjustable boots. I have ill moros and I love them too death. Both are both super adjustable/customizable too. From what I felt the moros are a bit stiffer than the ft's. Personally I like the ratchet strap on the cuff. Getting them supper stiff up top is kindof a hassle some time. Id say its pretty even maybe check out some rampages too?

ive ridden rampages for the last 2 years and one of the big things im looking for is the wrap around intuition liner because even the rampages havent been doing much for my shinbang

last year end of season i was hooked on the il moros, i really wanted to get em and i tried em on a few times and they wer super compfortable and bein able to pull it in a the ankle was soo much better then my spks. dont know anythin bout the hot dogger but the il moros are such a sick boot

90% of ski companies make you go through a dealer.  Thats the advantage of buying through your local shop is that they will fight to get your shit fixed, i know this, i run a shop.  If you bought it online i am in no way obligated to do anything, even if i am a dealer.  If i like you and want you to come back, ill hook it up.

i love my il moro's. they have the lightest and warmest liner available pretty much.  really light and comfortable and my feet have NEVER been cold.  they just fit my foot perfectly. once the mold that liner to you foot its like a whole new boot. its pretty hard to tell just trying on the boot without the liner being heated. i mean as long as the shell fit is good, you will NOT be dissapointed.

why not buy intuition liners for your rampages? it would be a bit of a hasle but you might be able to get them through dalbello directly. i'm actually trying to do that for my pair, and i now have a contact at dalbello which i'm probably gonna call/email in a few days.. let you know how it goes.

Im in the same boat also. Have had the rampage for 2 seasons (full) and need a new boot for next season. I shall initially be looking at the booters and hotdoggers depending on whether they fit. I think the FT has a smoother flex than the dalbello, its cheaper and lighter also. but if it doesnt fit then Ill maybe look into an intuition liner for my rampages.

For straight park riding/all mountain jib, which has the better performance? I hear Full Tilt is lighter and has a smoother, slightly softer flex..

I have narrow feet so I'd be looking at the 08/09 Konflict and Hot Dogger(with the skinner profiles). I've heard that they're the same boot, but with the konflict you get 2 liners for park + big mountain(?) - the Konflict would be more versatile, and I could swap liners accordingly. This will be my only boot and I'm mainly into freestyle, but if they're basically the same frame (with only diff colors), then I'd go with the Konflict; so I could charge big mountain occasionally too. I guess that raises another question. Are all the Full Tilt frames the same - aside from some having wider footbeds - , and you just pick your model based on which liner-color combo, suits you the best?

Sorry I'm rambling but can anyone clarify this. I'd really appreciate it if someone could provide me a boot recommendation based primarily on park oriented riding, with maybe a little big mountain charging. I know your suppost to go to a bootfitter, but my understanding is that both the 08/09 Full Tilts and Dalbellos, are designed for a narrow foot -  I used to rock rampages which fit just fine.

first off, not all dalbellos fit narrow feet, it all depends on the model.  The krypton series fits pretty narrow but something like the proton 8 is a bit wider.  And i believe that you get one liner, but two tongues, which is the same with the dalbello il moro.  The way i see it, why go with full tilts which is just an out dated shell, when you can get the il moros.  I mean come on, i dont know why companies would take a step backwards with technological advances.  Another nice thing about the il moro is the liner expands to fill all the dead space in the boot so your foot doesnt get any play or sliding.  I have nothing against full tilt, but in my opinion, the flashy color schemes and killer group of riders sell that boot.

i went with the full tilts and i loved them. they are super light, have a smooth flex and an awesome liner. i cant speak to the il moros because ive never skiied on them but id suspect they are pretty good. but i went full tilts and i love them so theres a success story for ya

under shoot or over shoot or land back seat in full tilt equals shin bang and possibly broken heels or ankles! do the same thing in il morro equals awesome after bang

the liners in the ill moros start narrow and will adjust to your foots width. the first time u ski them.

Hot Doggers = Light as hell, 100% moldable liner  ILL Moro = way heavier, not a natural flex and has a lot of unnecessary "bling". I love my Hot Doggers and have had Kryptons, which made my feet hurt and were heavy. Go Hot Doggen doggy!

^I can't speak of weight to compare the 2, but the Il Moro's have a 100% moldable liner too. They are virtually the same exact boot, just the Il Moro has a ratchet top strap and the Full Tilt have wiring. Both are 3-piece, both have same, wrap-around liner. Both are skinny-ish (Il moro a little wider).

il moro has extra padding in shin and heel also, which means ur wildest knuckle and over shoot tricks will come true!

Thanks for all the great input guys, I think I'm going to go for the 08/09 Konflicts. You guys said they are both really similar but, I like the idea of a light weight boot shell (since my rampages were friggin bricks) and the smooth progressive flex. Hopefully it'll be a success story I mean there has to be something going for Full Tilts if they're obsessed over by you guys and others so much. + Seth like totalllly endorses them - good enough for me!

but look at CoreUpt skis...they have good riders that say those skis are good, but those dynastars from a few years ago suck(Dyn. are much better now, coreupt will be next year), so that seth thing could jsut be a sales point.  Try on both and find which feels better, I didn't like how much of a curve you need in your foot for the FT's to fit right, so i got Il Moro's.  BTW, the weight of your boots matter, but I like how a slightly heavier boot controls your skis better.(but Dalbello still needs to shave off some weight...these are light everywhere and have all the weight around the back of you calf, making them heavy..)  hope it helps
