Ipod and or computer is messed up....+karma

alright so i have new music to put on my ipod the only thing is my computer doesnt recognize my ipod when i plug it in... like it doesnt show up on itunes or in "my computer" i have no idea whats wrong i got a different usb cord still nothin tho my ipod charges when its plugged in to the computer so i have no idea whats wrong.....

go into WMP, and click "sync", and see if it recognizes that your ipod is plugged in, or if it says "there are no devices recognized"

reset your ipod press the middle button and the top button at the same time forl like 10 sec

i had the same exact problem you need to manually put it in disk mode it tells you how on the apple website or i just called apple and say represenitive and talk to a person it takes about 5 minutes

i went to the apple help last night and it didnt help.............................. but yeah i had to manually uninstal and then instal my disk drive...... thanks to the 3 of u that posted.......

i had the same issue, but i just restarted my computer and it worked. that probably doesn't help but just thought i might throw it out there

That has happened to me before, but it has always fixed itself pretty quickly with a reboot or a reset of the ipod. Try holding down the center and menu button until the ipod restarts, as well as rebooting to see if it does anything. Sometimes that's all it takes.
