Newb setup, new skier, but im gonna shredd

so next year will be my first year skiing twin tips and really my first actual season and this is what im thinking so far

08 line blends-  because i want to ski everything probably more pow than park though cause ill be in crested butte

marker griffons- because im lighter and have a lower DIN then most (about 140 lbs)
 
maybe dalbello rampages- cause i guess spks are mostly for park but im still unsure about boots in general (is it more than just comfort)

and any advice on outterwear would be greatly appreciated (mostly pants) ((ill be living in gunnison CO so its gonna be cold as tits_

Good choice for skis and bindings, sure there are other options but those will be fine.
As for boots, see a bootfitter, go in there thinking "I know nothing about boots,"  Get fitted and then choose the boot that fits you the best, try on as many pairs as possible.  Read the sticky at the top of gear talk on how to buy boots it's very legit.

As for a jacket there are a million out there, don't get anything below 10k/10k waterproofness / breathability.  Sessions makes some 30k stuff that is pretty dope.

If he had said "I'll be better than T-Hall in a week or two," that would be arrogance.

Don't worry about it dude, your post was one of the most intelligent and well informed (good gear choice) posts I've seen a new person post around here in a very long time
I'll even throw down some karma for it.  You coming here with 90% of your plan is awesome, makes it easier to help you.  and you even had good choices so shit man, word.

definitely one of the most legit posts asking about gear i've seen. just thing is usually post height to but it doesn't matter with the questions you asked.
ya go see a bootfitter, dont shop for boots online, and dont trust what people on here say all the time.

Marshall is right about the boots. Getting fitted is the best way to go.

For outerwear get something that is insulated both pants and jacket.
I suggest going to a tent sale for Dick's Sporting Goods or Sports Authority. You will find some pretty good deals on last seasons gear if you look around.

Make sure to pick up..
A pair of thin ski socks (boot fitter will probably tell you about this) Your liner will provide plenty of warmth for now and then thin socks will allow you to get a really good fitted boot and when it gets packed out you can wear a regular pair of smart wool socks.

Thermal pants. These will keep you nice and warm on super cold and windy days.

Get cheap poles because your going to thrash them. I wouldn't buy anything over about $35 (just my opinion though)


Sick setup of skis and bindings. I was actually thinking about getting those same skis for this year too.

Definitely thin socks, even if you pay $25 for a pair of socks it will be worth it.
And definitely cheap poles, spend the money on something else more useful.

looks like you know what you need and every other thing has been properly posted. but yeah i can't stress enough on getting fitted, it's the only way to know what your buying is going to fit and perform the way you want it to.
and about the outwear, just try and fix yourself a 3 layer system: 1- merino wool or something like that as a base layer (hot chilliys, helly, dakine, oakley) along with some quality ski socks, 2- tshirts, zip sweaters, hoodies (personal preference depending on temp), 3- your preffered tech outwear, just go 10k/10k or higher and you'll be fine. there's tons of tecnicall outwear out there that you can find, check out www.backcountry.com
