Apple Mac Terminal code help.

So, I ballsed things up very badly.
I need a terminal code to restore all files in from the trash can...
They haven't yet been removed from the trash can. So are still sitting there. They were system files so now the computer won't turn itself on. I can obviously/hopefully restore them through the installation CD and terminal.
So, restore and not delete please.
Thanks and +karma for legit quick responses. I am desperate.
Peace

I'm not familiar with Mac's terminal specifically, but I'd guess that you'd have to do something along the lines of "cp trash_location target_location" which would copy everything from your trash to a specified target location. I don't think there's an actual restore command, so you'll have to figure out where everything goes and do more "cp source target" commands. I know it's not very specific, but it's the best I've got without having access to a Mac.

Cheers man, that's a start at least, I know location files and stuff so I'll give it a go. I am so worried about shitting this thing up the wall though. Apple Helps sucks for the record.
max. karma for you though bro.

You should be able to just boot from the cd and then reinstall the OS.

Yeah man, I was having dock issues with the original install, then reinstalled to try and sort it through another account. Sorted it, but accidently deleted new system files.
Would reinstalling again allow me to have two previos system files? Or will it delete my original one, keeping the second?
