Lost My Wallet...ugh.

I am a student going to University at Albany, and I lost my wallet last night.

I am making this thread for two reasons, tips for digging my wallet up and tips for going through the post-loss routine

1.-I have tried talking to my RA, talking to my quad office, calling the university police, calling the city police and contacting cab companies. Are there any other places that I could try? I know its kinda vague but its worth an ask.

2.-In total, I lost $50, my licence, my student ID (easy to replace) my nice wallet, and most importantly my mommies' credit card. First things first, I told my story to my parents to have them cancel the card, but thats all I have done so far.

I was wondering how I could go about getting my licence. Could I call the DMV around here? or should I try talking to the DMV back home where I did all of my registering shit to begin with. Also, how long does it take to get it back, and how much does it cost.

I was also wondering how I can gain my parent's trust again. They seemed pretty tweaked that I would go and lose their card, and as a jobless college student, it is kinda handy if I can call them and ask if I could run to walmart for some food.

I'd visit some of the stores/resterants that you might of left it at or something. Thats saved my ass a few times.

retrace your steps.  redo what you did last night, and look around wherever you went.  and make sure to ask all the staff you come across, sometimes they will find stuff and hold onto it behine the counter of restaurants and places like that.  good luck finding it, that definitely sucks.  +++vibes

For the license just goto the DMV and fill out more paper work, it costs 15$ and ive done it twice because I am retarded and lose my id all the time. But as luck would have it, this last time it was due for a renew too so I win

hit up the NYSDMV website, and you can get a new one through there. It'll cost ya, i dont remember how much... but that's what I'd look at right now

I've lost my wallet before and trust me, you got off way better. I'd try retracing your steps, other then that there's not much you can do. Good luck.

The faster you start trying to replace your wallet, the sooner you'll find your old one.

I swear, as soon as you get back from the DMV with your new ID and as soon as you get off the phone canceling your credit cards it's like your old wallet just crawls out of the cracks and crevasses it was hiding in, and will present itself in the most obvious place ever, making you question your wallets vendetta against you. (perhaps it's because it's hugging your ass all day. )

costs $15 bucks, and it took me 6 days to get my replacement.

i, too lost my wallet recently. i was biking downtown saratoga (you probably know where that is because you go to albany), and it fell outta my wallet. had my permit, $250 cash, health insurance card, house key, and a free medium cone to dairy haus. also in a nice wallet.

basically what i did was went everywhere i remember having it, asked the people at the pizza place i ate at if they had found it, and then never found it. caused me to lose $250, not be able to take my road test, parents not to trust me with money (which they didnt already, so whatever), and me being pissed.
