Out of total interest, lets have a newschoolers presidential poll. Put down who you are most supportive of at this time. Don't post if you cannot decide, of course.

I keep hearing about these polls on TV that are being conducted. But why should they have all the fun?

If you're not American, or under 18 yrs old, you probably have no reason to really post here, but.. I guess nobody's stopping you.

Obama.....I'm 23

I already made the mistake of adopting my parent's rich views and voting republican on my first big election. I will never do that again. I remember how nice things were when I voted bush back into office and then he lost, but still made it into office. After reading up on both candidates, I have to say obama hits my interests. McCain does not. It's that simple.

It is amazing how easy it was to read and form an opinion rather than watch the news and form one. Why don't they just have someone read their plans for one week straight, it would help stop the repetitive garbage they spit out on CNN every 30 minutes.


I don't understand how our government can be so fucked up when we have the children of the 60's running it. Hopefully we don't have cocksuckers running the government when my generation is up to the plate.


but honestly, palin and mccain? their speeches are so middle school. i guess if that's your cup of tea.

here's my take on what's been played of their speeches from a dramatic stance (the only thing the mentally challenged pay attention to):

McCain: "Obama doesn't have any experience."
Obama: "I just gotta brush these shoulders off."
McCain: "This guy's a celebrity because people like him. I'm here for real change and those of you that like me don't make me a celebrity."
Obama: "This guy won't stop lying about me. If you lie about me, i'll tell the truth about you."
McCain: "He's running a dirty campaign. I'm going to be the bigger man and not do that because our troops are dying and its patriotic to support them. Just forget about all the dirty ads I've been playing every commercial break for the last month, I already have."
Me: "Is McCain already going senile? What the hell is he talking about?"
Palin: "I'm a smart ass woman and I connect with redneck bitches that fuck truckers." (this was my take on her speeches. I don't know if its accurate, but if this wasn't what she was conveying then I couldn't tell you.)


If any of you McCain supporters can explain why this guy is acting like such an idiot let me know. Maybe you can convince me to vote for him. I guess I just don't understand retarded.

One thing that really pisses me off is when people complain about how their karma went down after they post. Are you hoping for sympathy karma points? Are they going to go back and change your karma back because you whined about your karma going down, no.

you guys all realize that if Obama is voted into office, many small buisness's will go under... the taxes that he has ready to put through, the small companies cannot support. he classifies the rich as someone who GROSSES... not NETS but grosses 250k per year... a business that is grossing 250k oer year, the owner is taking home no more than 40k, a teachers salary.once these people fall into this tax bracket and are made to pay higher taxes plus proved more health care benefits to their employees,  they are not going to be able to survive. The company that I am invloved in grossed 2.6 million last year but the president of the company only took home 42k. with these new proposed tax budgets, this given company will run over three hundred thousand dollars in the red and will lay off 15 workers. so much for helping small business's and the "little man". People need too look at both sides of this issue, giving tax breaks to the so called "wealthy" is not going to improve our situation. what we need to do is insure that banks willl not give out rediculus loans to irresponsible people who make 35k per year and want a million dollar home and a 80k BMW. It is the people that were living well beyond their means that are respnosible for this mess. why should the rest of us have to bail them out for their mistakes?

You don't know anything about home loans, do you?  There's something called DTI (debt to income) ratio...that prohibits people making 35k from buying million dollar homes.

The problem was preditory lending.  Banks were allowed more flexible guidelines to give out home loans, to increase people taking out loans, and to make it easier for people with low income to afford a home.  They also introduced no doc loans, and stated loans, which made it so that people without traditional jobs could get home loans at decent rates as well.

The problem, is that someone who makes 35k would come along, and they would want to get into a home for as little a monthly payment/ and as little down as possible.  These subprime borrowers, most with less than perfect credit, saw 0 down ARMs (adjustable rate mortgages) as the most affordable option.  They bouth their home, knowing that their interest rate for the first 1,3, or 5 years would be fixed at a low rate (1-5%).  They were told that when their rate expired it would rise, and become adjustable based on the prime rate.

These people thought...well hell, I can buy a house with 0 down, and have it for 5 years at a 1.5% interest rate...well when that 5 years is up, I'll either sell, or refinance...I'll have equity in my home to do so.

So now that everyones low interest ARM is adjusting they're stuck with

a.) a shitty market they can't sell in
b.) depreciation to the point that many owe more on their home than what the market value says it is worth
c.) stricter guidelines that prohibit them from refinancing.

Basically, these people with home loans, want to refinance, but they can't because they're no longer qualified to get a home loan! go figure.

oh, also i meant to say that, a loan that has an intro rate of less than prime, is a neg-am loan (negative amortization).  This means that, the difference between the rate that they may be paying (1.5%), and the index rate it's based on, is tacked onto the back of the loan, so your loan amount is actually getting bigger. Not only are you not paying principal and interest, but you're not even paying all of the interest.

So right off the bat, people owed more on their homes than they were worth.

sorry for hijacking the thread, just got a little irritated for hatin just for me postin McCain... there are reasons for people to vote for each candidate that are legitimate... it just depends on the given person specific position. I understand why many people would vote for Obama, it makes sense for a lot of people, for me however, it is in my and my families best interest for McCain to be in office over Obama, hate on me if you want, I know that it doesn't work for everybody. Its social darwinism I guess but thats just my opinion. If anyone wants to make another thread for debate, I would be more than happy to participate.
