Full tank of gas, 4wd L, and a friday night

I will keep it short, but basically me and a couple friends piled into me recently purchased 1996 toyota tacoma (4cyl, 5spd, 2in lift, 32 MTZ tires) and went off-roading on hayden hill in hinesburg VT. it got sketchy (narrow.... tight in some places but she managed to fit) and rocky but it took us about 1-2 hours on an old 4-wheeler trail to make our way from start to finish. used about $10 of gas the whole trip. you cant even see a movie for that cash anymore.

anyways just thought i would share an abridged version of our epic adventure (also got stuck in an empty cornfield and had to winch out, but that was somewhere else).

sounds like fun, good thing you had a winch. my friend had an 89 yoda pickup we used to go offroading in all the time. but his tires were stock size and bald, no lift, and he had no winch. needles to say we would be stuck about 80% of the time we out.

yeah, offroading is so dope

just make sure you know the field, because people nearby me died recently because they drove off a cliff in a quary they were offroading in, didn't know it was there

but hunting seasons coming up, and that means ignorant idiots with scoped rifles and beer out in the woods (yes, there are probably at least 10 responsible hunters for every one of those guys, but still its scary) and that might mean less adventures until november...

so sick. my dad's truck is an 05 silverado...it has a 6 inch lift, huge offroad tires (don't know exact model) and exhaust and headers. things a beast. i take it out occasionally and i'm not sure it knows how to get stuck.

I dont mean to rain on your parade but that a load of bullshit, you cant drive for two hours and only burn up ten bucks, especially when your in low 4wd.

i can see your skepticism, and ya it might have been a little more than that (the gas gauge kind of has a mind of its own), but we mostly crawled through the woods on account of the narrowness of the trail. i have a 16 gal tank that was full to start and the gauge said i used about 1/8th of it, so i kinda rounded up on account if its inaccurateness, but again, a lot of the time the engine was at or around idling speed so we could navigate the trees

^ah, but yea wheelin is super fun. I like to go friday nights after the game, pack some beezies in the bed and go have a bonfire in the middle of nowhere

Nice job man, good to see your using the truck. I like yotas cause they can sqeeze through tight spots pretty good. Why did you not take any photos though????????

Hunting is way more fun than 4 wheeling and I don't know what it's like in vermont but here the chances that some 'drunk hunter' is gonna shoot your truck are slimmer than getting hit by lightning.

I've heard of mistaken shootings in hunting, but if you're shooting at a vehicle and think it's an animal you deserve to lose your hunting license forever.

I wouldn't worry about the hunters unless your tresspassing.
