Bindings need help quick!!!

alright, so here's the deal.
i'm ordering a pair of bacons probably tomorrow and i was wondering if i should go for jesters or griffons.
i'm 5'10, 130, and have been skiing since i was two (meaning experienced)
i'm not going to be skiing them much in park, i have a pair of ar6's already...
so NS, help me out. +k to good, helpful answers.

i had the jesters last year on a pair of elizabeths they are a sweet binding for sure. i am 5' 10" about 128lbs. now the thing about the jesters is that they have a pretty high din. which for me i don't need to be running too high. i'm usually between an 8.5 and 9. as in no where near 16. also on markers website the minumum recommended rider wieght for the jester is 130lbs. which puts guys like you and me right on the edge of riding this binding safely. so i would definately recommend the griffons because you don't need to pay for the high din number and it will save you a decent amount of money. plus it is (other than the din) the exact same binding in it's design.
another rumor i heard was that it is also lighter because they used magnesium in the spring instead of steel for the griffon- which would be good, but like i said i'm not totally sure about that part.

I believe the Jester is much more durable than the Griffon..
If you can handle the higher din range then i'd go for Jesters.
- it would also be harder to sell bacons with griffons

the main difference in the griffon adn jester is din range and price. the griffon was released as a less costly jester, so both will have simular performance, i'd suggest griffons if its within your din range to save a few buks

If it's between those two for sure treat yourself and buy the Jester's. Lighter and sturdier for sure. Griffon is a look a like cheap Jester. Can't go wrong either way though, Maker is awesome.

I think the griffons would be a good choice. they're identical other than the din range. the griffon is lighter, and at 130lbs, a 12 din binding would be enough for you

I'm fairly sure the Jester has metal in the heel housing and toe wings, whereas the Griffon does not.
Worth the extra $ for the added durability.

i would say jesters for sure. or if you want the bindings to last longer get sth 14/16s

I rode my Bacons with Jesters all last year I'm 5'9 145 lbs. and I had the Dins at like 9, they are more jib oriented ski so it's not like I was charging huge lines and massive cliffs, so you don't need a super high din, but it is nice and increases resale value for sure.
I'd go with Jesters because they are
1. More beefy
2. Higher DIN
a. You could sell them for more
b. If you get bigger you would like/need a higher din
3. I loved mine, great bindings, I'm putting another pair on my Donner Party's
You will love the Bacons too, such a fun ski, I'd even go so far as to call it a one ski quiver if you are the type who likes a softer ski.
STH-12 or 14 would be good too if you can get them for cheaper, but I doubt you will save enough for it to be worth it.

i have 06 sollys on my ar6s and they blow testicles.
they are the ones with the plastic heel peice so whenever you have even a slightly sketchy switch landing you pop out, and the binding fucks up...
but i heard solly really stepped it up the past years so i'm def. going marker or solly

You're right. I checked with the rep and the griffon's toe wings and heel housing are composite and the jester is metal. My bad
