Holy missing music! What?

I turn on my computer today. I have not synced my ipod i over a week, I have not updated to itunes 8, I have not touched anything in at least 4 days. I open itunes and I have no music. Purchases tunes, gone, illegal tunes, also gone, CD rips, toast. What exactly happened. Itunes help has been able to offer me no information, so I am searching the web for information regarding this problem. I do still have my ipod with all my music, even though last time I tried taking it off there I lost all my music, and I still have the limewire stuff from back in the day in a folder (I hope, I haven't checked yet) but I sorta wanna know what happened. Help?

No I still have the stuff, because Zune works fine, I just realized I had that program and sure enough thats totally fine,so its Itunes, just gonna rip it off the ipod, hopefully I don't fail this time.
Seriously though, all I want to know is what happened?

What OS are you using? Windows? Try relocating the files with the little relocate tool

same thing happened to me once. find the previous itunes library file and load that file, it won't have anything you added after the date the file was made but at least then you won't have to re add everything. my previous update was only like a month old or so, so it wasnt too bad. now i always back up that itunes library file to my external so that wont happen.
if that doesnt work let me know

itunes has erased everything i had once before...conviently i backed up...so all your music should be intact where ever the source files were...so look for those and just re-import
