Last weekend we had great corn snow on the Palmer - After hiking all summer it was pretty cool to ride the lift on my Fusion Pass and rip some high speed turns. The park crew is continuing to kill it - the features are small to medium in size but extremely well constructed.
It looks like it may rain this weekend, so it would be a good idea to check the snow phone before you drive up (but, being a professional, you surely knew that already ;-). We will all be looking out for the dude in head to toe Sessions, no poles and some sort of rockered K2s.
the snow is great, the park is good you have to hike it, the landings from the mogul camps are great for gaping or hand drags, and no one has been up lately, so overall fun skiing, they open at 8 and close at 2
Don't come here it's complete shit. if no one comes we can shut down and I can finally have my vacation... naw just kidding it's still good. lapable on Palmer, ski on and off. gotta hike outta the park wich is in HCSC, features are set well. Nothing huge though, fun and jibby. Was cold and hard today, brrrrr, forcast says maybe snow monday, good thing I stayed in the office all day. Word

Was super hard and icy early in the morning. There was an inch thick ice crust, and slush underneath, though we weren't breaking through. The park has about 5 or 6 jibs and a couple small jumps, with a mellow hip that maxes out at about 30 ft (bottom of the furthest part of the tranny). You have to hike out, but it's a good time once it melts.
I take it you were the dude with the purple Dodge Intrepid with the Skybox and the ON3P and NS stickers on it.
I was up at Timby on Friday and Saturday. Friday was fucking awesome - brilliant sun and 60 degrees. We had great corn on the Palmer, the run-ins were salted and the landings in the park were nice and soft. Saturday, however, was cloudy, cold, windy and it rained overnight - consequently the report of the Palmer being like sliding a never ending box was spot on. I was actually unable to stop myself on my detuned Invaders so I ended up making tight slalom turns in the width of a snowcat track to be able to get some control - icy ruts were better than the icy sheet. I met a snowboarder who was having the same issue on his detuned board.
The park was pretty empty on Friday, but there was a pretty good session going down on the Candy Cane rail around noon on Saturday - a bit out of my league - I was happy to sit and drink my Schlitz High Gravity (24 oz, 8.5% alcohol, $1.29 at the Shell in Sandy) and watch. It should be a good scene this weekend if the weather is favorable.
Incidentally - It snowed on the upper mountain overnight. I think it all blew off (It looked like snow flurries here on the east side), though.
Unfortunately no pow - but sweet corn and sunshine were in abundance today. Your co-workers are keeping the park up nicely and some sickness was being thrown down.
Looks like snow this weekend, so the outlook is not terribly promising. Last weekend Tommy Ellingson and Josh (last name?) were hitting the bottom right table (where the mailbox was set as a wall stall) and gapping to the landing of the middle table - That jump looked to be legit, though it might not be there this weekend due to weather.
