While this guy does have a point that riding park all day every day will probably destroy some of your all mtn style, being 'old school' and doing no park skiing at all makes him just as deficient as any park rat, just on a different area of the hill.
Not only that, the greatest thing about skiing is getting on a lift with an 80 year old guy with 2 knee replacements and 210 cm boards that are older than I am and actually having something in common with him.
If whatever his name is wants to rip NS skiers, he's more than welcome to do so, but all it shows is that he's a narrow-minded person who will never progress to half the skier that most of us already are.
I ski everything, because it's all fun to me. I make a point of skiing top to bottom and varying the terrain as much as possible. I'll start at the top of the mtn on a bump run, transition into a groomer or chopped up pow if it's around, and finish out with a run through the park before I hit the lifts back up. Can what's his name say the same?
I don't care how good you are at ripping your old school lines. If you can't ski any other parts of the mtn, you still suck. You're like a rock crawler or an indy race car. You're great at what you do, but you suck at everything else. Give me my 'SUV style' any day.

well pow is way fun and its easy. park is hard you have to have lots of control to do park. saying park is easy is as liable as saying O.J. simpson is inocent.

im not one for rails cuz i have busted my ass a bunch and dont feel the need to continually hurt myself just to learn rails so im sticking with the huge kickers

the funny part is that powder is FUCKING EASY TO SKI. This is really pissing me off. Hey shitheads, big mountain is way easier than park. Stop saying park kids cant ski, because im willing to bet 90% of them could go out on to the runs and kick your ass.

wow, anyone that skis big mountian can ski way better on the bigmountain than a park rat. i agree to the eastcoasters that are parkrats, they don't have bigmountain to ski but for the midwest and westcoast, i would hope if u can do a cork 7 that u can ski a double black. Tanner hall may be the best park skier in the world, but he can't ski on runs worth shit

well ctgosal, I'm sorry you feel that way about new school skiing. I don't know why you hate it so much. It has brought a new interest into the sport. Not all of us are park rats here. I didn't ski park until I was 16. I was doing sick lines in the bumps and powder before that. You should let me know if you are ever want to go riding (skiing) with me. I'll bet I could teach you a few things.

i do agree with him to a certain extent...most kids arent blessed with having a massive mountain in their back yard...most mountains are just mole hills and a park is the only thing to salvage it. But If you got some sick terrain to ski, I would be out there anyday over the park...Last year I didnt start skiing on my park skis until at least mid february...go schralp pow whenever possible...it will make you abetter skier period...

Park does alot for skiers like me, I live in Toronto and park got me into the freestlye scene and inspired me to go out to whistler and ski big mountain there - if it weren't for park, there would be absolutely no freestyle scene on the eastcoast and everybody would sit inside and play badminton and stick their rackets up eachothers bums. So you better get on your knees and plead to the gods of skiing to forgive your sorry ass, lest a avalanche swallow you up, and a goat steal your wallet...bitch
