Is It possible to mount a demo binding without the track? (Specifically old P12's)

I scraped up a pair of Look p12 demo track bindings at a swap last month for hella cheap. They look to be ones from 2003-2005. I want to mount these on my PE's but the PE is heavy enough as is, and I was hoping there was a way I could mount these beasts without the track. The huge lift also blows. I don't know mush about these. But it looks like the only integration is with a couple screws into the track. If I remove this can it be mounted with shorter screws?

Well, you CAN, but I really wouldn't. I believe the old p12 model has less track integration than the PX or any other more recent demo binding, however if you are using them for freeride, don't do it. Demo bindings are designed to be able to slide forward and backward more easily and therefore have weak connector pieces that break easily. If they are just on a crappy rail skis, go for it. However if that is the case, just leave the demo track on. The metal plates actually only weigh a small amount, the p12 is a heavy binding, and the weight difference is so negligible, you would never notice.
So, my advice is do not do it. Spend $20-30 more and get a pair of bindings that you will use for what it was designed.
