My parentals found out that i smoke trees and drink...

Okay so I use Gtalk (Google Talk), its like AIM or MSN Messenger... Anyways I've been living at my mom's house since September 1st since my dad and bro are in Europe right now. So Sunday night I was on Gtalk and left it up not really thinking anything about it. Well the next day my step dad (Joe) got on it and looked into my chat history because it saves every chat that I've ever had... Well the chat history contained stuff about setting up parties, girls, drinking, and smoking weed. So he went ahead and printed all this shit out. Showed it to my mom and Monday night my mom comes to me and says "We need to have a talk", I thought it was about some essay I wrote that my teacher thought was disrespectful. But it wasn't... So we had a long conversation about how marijuana is illegal and that it if i got caught I could go to jail and all... And that pot leads to other drugs, which i told them I haven't tried and I would never even think about trying, which is the complete truth. Joe even said to me "Pot is worse for your lungs than cigarettes...", so I just stopped and looked at him and said "No, actually cigarettes are worse for your lungs because they leave your lungs coated in tar.". And then my mom cried a little bit. Then they talked about girls and how I shouldn't talk about them in the manner I do. haha They went on to talk about underage drinking and how I could get license suspended or some shit if I got caught. So They want me to not do any of those things again... But I really haven't experienced that sick highschool party yet. What should I do?

what he said, but also, just keep doin what you're doin. by your description, you haven't done anything that's actually "wrong" and that's what's really important. as long as you're willing to handle what happens if you get caught, i see no reason why you should stop smokin, drinkin, and fuckin baaaad bitches.

Be honest and up-front with your parents, but understand their concerns. Ultimately it is your decision(s) to make, but realize that considering their thoughts will make your own more rational.

I was talking about weed with my mom yesterday on the way home from the dentist. (1 hour drive)

Anyways she said "now a days you dont know whats in it. people lace it with stuff and it could kill you"

I didnt want to argue but I was so tempted to say "only if you pay extra"


As for whether you should keep doing what your doing or not I would say do it. If you feel like thats what you want to do then do it. I do, my idea is I can do smoke and drink as much as I want as long as I still keep my grades up and clean my car. My mom and dad have caught me smoking twice now. The first time they found some rolling papers and a roach in my hoodie pocket, the second time they didnt find anything, they just knew that I had been smoking.

just pretend you dont do it anymroe, thats what i did, now im in college but living at home(only 17 so wayyy under age) and my parents just tell me not to drive if im gonna do anything at a party, so they become way chiller as you get older

dude, its highschool. do what you do. every single kid has to figure their own shit out....you're going to drink, smoke, do retarded shit, and by the end of it all, you'll learn by yourself what's right and wrong. parents always try to teach the lessons for you, but honestly you just have to experience it all yourself...thats the best and only way you can really learn the important lessons.

Well 17 is older than he was when he was 14 or whatever.  He doesn't need to know what old is.  All that matters is that his parents got less strict as he got older....nothing wrong with him saying that.  I mean what, is he going to be like ya, my parents are way more chill when I'm 35 than when I was 9???

At 17 my parents were like welp you drink, we drank at 17, so they told me not to drive and not to do drugs. I got caught with weed when i was 16 and my parents lost trust, got mad, etc etc. Less than a year later i was drinking and they knew and didn't care. It's all about showing you are responsible and can take care of yourself, then your parents are like whatever he can do what he wants. Like now at 19, i got possession and possession of paraphernalia and my parents were like oh ok, we'll get you a lawyer and you pay for everything. It brought me closer to my parents if anything at all. Honestly and trust are clutch in high school, gain them both with your parents and you'll have the best time of your life.


On the other hand, you should bitch slap your step dad, dudes a fucking douche bag i hate parents like him. You should just go off on him, being like you're not my fucking dad, fuck off you piece of shit. Then bitch slap.

Honestly, don't give it any thought.  Keep doing what makes life enjoyable, since its the only way to stay sane in high school.  I've gotten caught so many times, eventually they stopped caring and it actually brought me closer to my parents because i could talk to them openly about drugs and drinking.  Just don't put yourself in a situation where the outcome could lose something alot worse than your parents trust for a few weeks.

Don't worry about it ive smoked weed since 6th grade and im in 11th now and
it won't lead you to harder drugs its no big deal, ive gotten busted many times by parents and shit like they get really pissed then are just disappointed and shit but its nothing, but i have to tell you my friend your wrong about cigs compared to weed. Weed does coat your lungs with tar as well, actually if u smoke a joint the same size of a cigarette you end up getting 4x the amount of tar in your lungs. IN weed the resin is full of tar, but i can still run a 6 minute mile of smoking cigs and weed for years so i woulnd't worry abou tit just party it up and have fun live life to its fullest.

ya same her, i got caught when i was 15, then quit smoking, but now my parents dont care as long as i dont get caught/drieve drunk.

and i know 17 isnt old, but i meant as you get older, and more mature, and they can trust that you wont drink and drive, adn will be responsible with ddrinking.

I smoke and drink and go to party's and shit, but im fairly sure that my parents don't know at all that I do. I usually tell them im sleeping at a friends house and then I do whatever I want. It seems to work, but I am hoping that it will eventually get to a point where they just dont care anymore because they did the same things when they were my age

they're right. you could have your licenses suspended/expelled for being pulled over. violating driving laws can lead to this, just like every other driving law.

If time has taught me anything its this. If you get caught smoking/drinking then tell them youll stop. But don't. If you get caught again explain how it was a one time thing. Wash Rinse repeat. Eventually they'll get desencitized.

Its 730 am last Sunday morning and I'm on the couch and my dads asks me if I know how I got here. my memory fades around 930 the night before. Turns out I was dropped off unconscious and that I spent the night passed out in the bathroom on the floor. I moved out that day and haven't talked to him since. And I had to go to work that morning still drunk.

I would take a break from it for a while, maybe a quarter (if your school year is divided into quarters)

I didn't party the most of the summer, and it made the last 10 days (party every night) even sweeter.

yea, im guessing your in gr 9 or gr 10? My parents first found out i drank in gr 9 when i was hung over as shit. They gave me the 'talk' and stuff, but you just have to live your life. Keep in mind what there telling you, they know that your gonna keep doing that shit, they just hope that you don't become a total fuckup at life. Lay low for a while, and if your plannign a big night of drinking sleep over at one of your friends houses. It'll blow over. Cut down on your pot though, if your young and your already smoking a lot, you'll be fucked when your older and it will be hard as shit to quit
