Bern Helmets; fact of fiction?

Im about to buy a new helmet for this season and I've been thinking of a various number of helmets, one of them are Bern Macon.

I like the design of the helmet but I've heard that they are not accepted as real helmets(good quality and protection) so I figured I'd ask NS about this..

Is the Bern helmets(Macon and the others) having good protection/quality?
Im not asking for your opinions about it's design or whatever I am sure I can do that myself.

the macon will protect your noggin just not as much as an eps or zip mold lined helmet. it is considered to be a "hardhat" which means that the shell is protected with brock foam. i personally own a bern macon hardhat helmet and i'm fine with it since i don't do that much crazy shit. if you're gonna ride hard and do 50 and 60 footers i'd recommend you look into bern's eps or zipmold helmets and you should be fine. in fact, i think bern makes macon with an eps liner... check it out at www.bernhelmets.com

Bern helmets are tiny. I wear a L Giro and I couldn't fit an XXL Baker.

get a bern.  same price, tons of great styles, tons of helmets that are certified (only the macon and baker aren't, i believe) and they actually SUPPORT SKIING. Call me crazy, but I'll never buy a RED, simply because Burton thinks skiing isn't cool and hung a ton of super legit folks out to dry when they dropped all their skiers (Pollard, Michelle, TJ, etc).

i have a bern and i love it. my head never got to cold or to hot in any condition. the fleece thing or whatever that came with the helmet is the shit. doesn't allow goggle under helmet steeze, but then again i might look into a bern that does since in fact they are the shit

Yeah, Bern doesn't make helmets. They make head protectors.
