same, 4th grade, I live in NJ, like 20 min from manhatten. We had a bomb scare that day (worst timing ever) and we sat outside for a few hours and a lot of people left early and we didn't hear much except when we were in a class the teacher played the radio for a little bit so I was clueless till I got home and watched the news and I remember wanting to skateboard but my mom didn't want me to get hurt because the hospitals would be full. It was fucked up hearing everyone's stories cause a lot of peopl had parents that worked in the city.
I was in 5th grade, my parents woke me up at 7 west coast time and said planes hit the towers. Didn't think anything of it, they didn't really want me to watch the news but i watched anyways and understood it, it was super sad, and I'll never forget it.
