I think this question warrants discussion and input from the local riding community. In the course of a discussion with HoodCoast, the issue of the size of the Meadows jumps last year came up again. Though it is extremely unlikely that we will be able to construct something as large as the Cascade Superpark in 2006-2007 was as a result of the Snoqualamie incident, there is a real probability that we can convince those in charge that larger jumps can be safely constructed and hit. I don’t see any reason why Meadows shouldn’t have jumps as large as Timberline, for example. I saw some of the best skiers in the world throwing down on the large table in the public park this summer and heard not one single complaint about the size.
The question for discussion is: In order for talented local amateurs to progress toward having professional level skills, at a minimum, how large do the jumps need to be?
