09 blends or prophet 100s?

so im about 5'11, 150 lbs, east coaster

i ski about 70% out of the park, a lot of it in the trees, off the trail, almost all the skiing i do is in variable conditions. im looking for a ski that will be able to carry me through the chop and be pretty versatile, but still playful enough, so i can drop back into the park and the trail when i want to.

i know that this sounds like a clear case for the blends, but i just wanted to get some other opinions. im not limited to these choices and would def appreciate any input on other skis.

and i know its a long shot, but if anybody has skiied the blends already, let me know how you liked them. or if you have them but havent skiied them, whats the flex like?

the blend is a fairly soft ski. its not as stiff as last years or the chronic, i would say it has a medium flex. it is definitely softer than the prophet.

i'd say for 70% park then the blend, the prophet is by far the better all around ski but it's not great in the park, whereas the blend is good in the park but soft so it's not as good all mountain, but just for 30% all mtn it should be fine. as an east coaster my recommendation is to buy a pair of park skis and get the prophets as your all around/pow ski, basically you can have a ski for the park and a ski that slays everywhere else

I think the way you should look at it is the blends are your all mtn freestyle ski and the prophets are your all mtn freeride ski.  So base that on how you see yourself as a skier and how you attack the mtn. you want a little more playfulness(blends) or you want to get down to businness(prohets)

not unnecessarily.  Some skiers really like the 100s in the park (bibby when he skied for line, peter kukesh).  The thing you've gotta know is that they've got a lot of sidecut in the tip, and some taper.  This makes the ski great forward, but at least for me personally, I felt like it was too hooky when it was switch.  I've skied the blend (I work for LINE) and it is obviously a great park ski.  I was really surprised by how well it rips all over the mountain though, it is so, so good.  The flex isn't that soft either, I'd say its failry stiff underfoot, but more of a medium flex in the tip and tail.  Hope this helps.

Prophet 100 has 9mm taper. The Blend has 10mm.

Sidecut, yeah I only skied the 90 but they turn a LOT, i na good way. I was blown away by them on groomers. I only had a few turns switch but they felt decent even though the bindings were way back.

thanks guys def some good advice there, + karma to all.

i think ill go with the blends, cause a moderate but playful flex sounds just about what im looking for.

good choice on the blends, good flex, theyll be awesome all mountain. the 100s are a sick freeride ski, but they are pretty hooky switch
