what i mean is, what bindings are the thinnest?, what bindings put you closest to the ski, without lifting you up at all?

Most binders without risers will be the lowest profile. I think the lowest are prob tyrolia, but the bindings suck dick.

rossi FKS. or Look P18's, they have basically the same toe piece as teh ones now, but the backs are the swiveling trianlge deals. sickest bindings every made

it's the old race binding look and rossi used to make, still used by many pros, including their riders who do not like the new bindings (both racers and freeskiers), and as many know tanner uses them. they were discontinued after the 06/07 season and people are still upset and confused with this decision.
the measures are brake width, wider brakes for fatter skis, though you can always bend brakes so if the sizes doesn't match up dont sweat it.

you mean like look pivots? i have some of those

not exactly, though they were the basis for the pivot design. pivots are better than any solomon to begin with. FKS/P15s and P18s have a fully pivoting heel, as in it can go around 360 degrees, and are a fully metal binding with a higher din (p18s are 8-18 for example).

the px lifter series, you can take the lifters off, and then they are lower then the px12 jib etc

i mean, technically, i would think tele bindings would have your boot closest to the ski.
but i assume you are talking about alpine...

I used to HATE Salomon binders. Now, I swear by them.... or the Atomic FFGs. Same shit, but super low profile, light, and I stay in.

i understand the move in the lower din bindings, but cost efficiency isn't as big a deal with race stocks, performance matters more, and the the drop in performance is huge, while the price has actually increased.

fks. but really it doesnt make that much of a difference. i wouldnt buy a binding for how high it leaves you off the ski. besides race bindings ect...

Just get some look P18s if you can find some, as far as I'm concerned they are the best binding made.

lets not bring back the fks.....
part of the reason being look/rossignol dont make money when your bindings dont break. you will probably rock the same pair of fks until you fall apart.
another part is so everyone can see mine and get jealous.
a trick to prolong the life of your bindings is to in the summer turn the dins all of the way down. letting tension off the spring, making the binding last alot longer.

i broke mine, haha. and you know they have to be losing some money with all the warranties on those pieces of crap.

HA!
if jesters are the best bindings, then how come all the athletes riding jesters at x games this past season broke them and had to switch to the marker race binding at the last minute? Then, switch back for podium shots....
something sneaky's going on!

yeah, but whenever you take out the lifters you need to either grind down the screws or get new ones,
not exactly stating that to you specifically just throwing it out there for everybody else.

You're from rossignol.
PX are the worst bindings on the market. I won't be buying another Rossignol/Look pair of bindings unless it's a set of FKS.

Ahem.
Well.
Personally I've been on what, two pairs now? Yeah. Both of them have been the shittiest things ever. Foward pressure getting fucked up on both pair several times. This past season I stopped skiing on my powder skis because i was scared to be on them. Yes, they were proporly adjusted, and I took them into teh shop severaal times and they didn't find anything wrong with them. My brother went through 3 pairs this past season. THREE! First ones. Destryoed the track of the heelpieces. Second ones. Same thing. Third ones. He snapped the toe piece off COMPLETELY. Gone. These were the PX 15. On top of that, I've encountered numerous people with horror stories to tell about there PX shit pieces. I will never be buying another pair, and I know many others who have taken that same vow. They are a terrible design.
