Big sky/ bridger

yo im wondering if the snow is decent throughout the season for either of these mountains. is the pow any good? and is there a lot of it? or is it more of a park area.

Bridger's snow quality is better 80% of the time.  Their backcountry access is better 100% of the time.

k thanks. ive just heard a lot of the time bridger just gets dust on crust. and is there much sled accessable terrain?

Go up the canyon another 5 miles past Bridger to the Fairy Lake/ Frazier Lake turnoff and there is some retardedly sick sled-accessed terrain.  Also check out the Gallatin range, and definitely go to Cooke City.

why you would want to ruin this person's ski season by convincing them your lies have merit is beyond me. but know this
bridger has less vertical feet than big sky or moonlight
bridger has longer lift lines
bridger has slower lifts (ya they're really really slow, it's dumb)
bridger has less acreage so it gets skiied out faster. this is kinda mitigated by the slow lifts but it still happens.

True, but I don't like skiing wind-buffed, shale-filled snow for $80 a day.  If you have the money to do it by all means go for it, but I'm too broke to do base welds after every weekend.  And my point was about snow quality and backcountry access, both of which are nearly indisputable points.  If you want to debate vertical and terrain go ahead, but it's all subjective (interesting ridgeline vs. blank slate...).


BTW, it's "skied", not "skiied."

No harm intended, I just became overwhelmed when the noob alert went off, and, alas, I stand by my post. However, that simple post contains much deeper content once delved into. The supposed "noob" implied Aenigma was withholding the truth in the form of a lie. But wait! This cannot be! Aenigma, or anyone for that matter, would not lie amongst fellow sophisticated skiers in the montana forum. Therefore, the "noob" must be mistaken, and I felt it my civic duty to respond to his negligence. I do hope this post clears up any taint which may have been left my previous comment.

And there you have it, young chap; my opinion, which of course, as you say (and I must rather agree), I am entitled to.

big sky season passes are like $1,400 which is fucking retarded
moonlight passes are like $450
the big sky/moonlight combined pass is like infinity ($1700) for some fgt reason
bridger is like $550

bridger is good if you want to ski during the week before classes or something as it's only like 30mins from campus. also bridger seems to get these freak dumps. last year they got like 80'' overnight and the year before they had a 100+'' dump. probably the best days of sking in my life. lifts are just so fucking slow and the hippies are rly smelly from hiking the ridge :C

moonlight def has the best park during the season. the park crew works hard as fuk and changes shit around a lot. plus they're cool as fuck. dont hessitate to smoke them a bleeze whenever you're up there and you'll be vip fo sho. there's also some really fun terrain and the vibe up there is so sick, everyone's stoked on riding. they have good rail and box game cuz the park crew actually likes riding and works super hard to make things sick.

big sky is really big. hella terrain, any kind of skiing you want; trees, cliffs, steeps, meadows, and parks. no offense to the kids that work there but the park crew seems kinda lazy. idk if it's the management that makes them do it but they put the main park on the worst fucking north facing icy ass run possible. haha there's lots of fgts and snobs at big sky for some reason, this is more of a cool/funny thing though cuz it doesnt affect your skiing and you get to lol @ fools. shit is dumb expensive though

1.  I find it hard to believe you have even been on campus based on the stunning mix of internet language, gangster talk and the use of "like" in your post, but that is beside the point.

2.  Bridger is 15 minutes from campus if you know how to pass.

3.  Bridger did not recieve an 80'' dump overnight last year.

Park rats dont give a shit about these tho.  Also....

Moonlight pass=easy poaching up the upper big sky lifts

I agree. BIg Sky's hardest run (The Coulier) is a long ass wait as they only let people in every 15 minutes.  The Bridger ridge has countless runs that are easily as challenging and some even more so...

Wait...the big couloir is a challenging run?  It's definitely a sick run, but not really technical in any sense.  Dobie's and the Little Couloir are on an entirely different level though, along with a few shots on A-Z.  The thing I really like about Big Sky is that you can do almost all of the runs on the upper mountain at 40+ if conditions permit, which is definitely not the case at Bridger.  Straightlining the second half of the Big is a good rush for sure!

Yeah, I guess it's more of their self proclaimed hardest run.  The giant warning signs at the bottom and the way they manage it just makes it seem intense.  Have you gotten to ski the little?

bridger is dope, and besides the long liftlines on weekends, they have so much good terrain and its really easy to find powder. big sky is cool, but i get tired of it
