They help carving, but people on here will tell you that they're terrible for the park when they really
don't make that big of a difference. Not having them makes park stuff easier, but if you find a good deal on a pair with lifters, it's not the end of the world. I've been riding with lifters for the last three seasons and don't really have any problem with them. I prefer non-lifted, but it's no big deal.
I am looking at some for my brother who is pretty much an all mountain skier who likes to ski everything. The lifters are an extra 30 bucks, do u think there is any reason to get them?
i would say no, just get the ones without the lifters. you wont really notice a difference. i have been skiing on lifters for the past could seasons and before that i had reactor bindings so this year will be my first year on non lifted. i didnt have any problem skiing on lifters though. just save the $30
Just make sure that they give you the correct length screws to use without the lifters. The last thing you want to happen is have some shop guy put a binding screw through your base. Who's charging extra for plates anyway, and what bindings?
