Well it looks like my season is fucked

so all last season my feet have been in terrible pain to the point where i could not walk on them. my toes on both feet grow out then back in causing the bone to oush up against the boot. at the end of the season i called the doctor and made an oppointment over the phone with an automated machine. so they never called back and i waited about a month and then called again. and this time i talked to a person and i got an sppointment for october 20th. so that means when i go to see the doctor and he scheduals an opperation that will be a few weeks which by then it will be ski season. then after the opperation is the recovery time which will be about another 6 weeks. so by the end and i get the ok from the doctor to ski the season will be about 1/2 to 3/4 over. this really blows and i dont even know if i should spend the money and get a pss for this year.

sucks. i bought a season pass last year then two days before christmas i had a serious leg injury that it wasn't likely i'd ever recover from. i did eventually fully recover (apparently it was a miracle), but i only got to ski about five weekends before end of the season.
+vibes to you brah.

I know how ya feel, I missed last season till march before I could ski... All I'd tell ya is not to get too bummeed out till you hear from the doctor, ya might get lucky. And just do the physio to the best yer ability.
That said.. sounds like you'll just miss the first half which isn't too bad... I know in europe the sick conditions only are around towards the end of the season.

idk man depends. i mean at my mountain after about 10 trips your season pass is paid for. so if it's only half over and you ski somewhat consistently i'd still get the pass. i mean even if my season was 3/4 over i'd still do it. depends on how much you plan on skiing you know?

it just sucks that i have to miss a huge chunk of the season. i mean skiing and soccer are my life and if i can't ski and play soccer im going to go into a state of depression. last year for feb break we had 9 days off and i skied 8 of those days. i had to take a day off to let my feet rest because of the pain. and when i would hit mid day during the season i would have to go in and sit with my boots off for about 30 to 45 minutes before i would go out again. but i am going to be skiing for the rest of my life (i hope) so i guess its good to get it done and overwith now while im still young.

ive had 9 surgeries on my feet and even though the doc says you have to be out for that long.. its usually less. if you just work your ass off in physical therapy and at the gym you can normally get back out way sooner. i had my foot broken and had a pin put in it in jan last year and was skiing exactly a month later

damn, that sucks so bad.
foot injuries/chronic foot problems are the worst. my feet are super sensitive, so whenever i do a lot of work, at the start of soccer or skiing season, it feels like the bones of my feet hurt all the time, but i think it's really just the ligaments.
+++vibes, i hope it works out for you.

sorry to hear that but i would say no to getting the pass because you might need even longer for recovery you just never know how surgery will go, hopefully in you case it will go well and you will be back out skiing fast.

go over to ur boot fitter and just have them blow out the front of ur boot, but i guess that wouldnt really work because they would still just jam into the front. sry to hear that.

thanks guys but this has to be done. because if not and keeping skiing on it it will come back and kick me in the nuts in the future. and i plan on skiing for the rest of my life, so i want to be able to teach my kids how to ski so i need to be able to do that without any pain.

Its just something you have to live with. I bought a 550 dollar season pass last year and my 3 day out I tore my acl and didnt get a penny back. So be smart and dont get a pass.

sucks bro. But what i dont get is why is your doctor taking his sweet ass time? If the earliest appointment you can get is oct 20th, why not go to a different doctor?

its something with the insurrance and how they are the only people around here that take my kind of insurrance. but if i wanted to travle about 2 hours i could go see a doctor but my parents are not willing to do that.

YAY...so these past few days i have been waking up with pain in my knees. i just thaught i banged it somehow and the pain would go away. i guess not. i told my dad about it and told him what hurts and where and he told me that i have the same problem that he had when he was my age. its called osgood slaughters disease (spelling?). it is where your bones grow too fast for the ligaments to catch up and is pulling and streching them. and there is nothing that can be done about it but just wait till they catch up with my bones but untill then i will be in pain for a while. looks like i will be popin about 5 advil a day.

that suck bro...hopefully you'll get lucky and they'll just give you some Physical Therapy. All I can say is good luck, and do whatever they say 100% or you'll be in the same boat next year.

haha i hope not next year. i'm doing this now so i don't have to be in pain next year. or the rest of my life. it jsut sucks no matter what time of the year i do it, i will lose something that i enjoy verymuch to get this done.

for once, it pays to be canadian
our healthcare covers everything.
so you basically can go into the doctors at any time, and for any reason,
and its covered :]
so i think if you were canadian, you'd have an extra month at least to ski.

well i do split the cost of the pass with my parents so i guess if im paying for half the season then i guess it is okay if i ski for only half the season.
