Read about them here:
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-Releases-New-Pro-Camcorders-in-Japan--HDR-FX1000-and-HVR-Z5J-35471.htm#
The HDR-FX1000 and the HVR Z5J
Both are Fixed lens 3-Cmos or "3MOS" cameras. Complete with Zoom, focus, and iris rings.
The HDR-FX1000 has improved 24p and 30p modes from the FX1 (and of course 60i), while the Z5J records 60i, 24p, 30P, HDV, DV, and DVCAM. The Key differences between these cameras is the Z5J has XLR inputs, and can record to compact flash or DV tape.
Note: These were announced in japan, and have yet to be announced in the US.

You and HDV may have won this battle, but we'll win the war! Down with HDV!
Nah, I kid. 921,000 pixel resolution is pretty damn legit. And there is a huge market for an inexpensive camera with NTSC/PAL capabilities.

the HVR Z5J will record to compact flash, same as the Z7 does i think. The Z7 has a removable, remote compact flash recorder, which they will eventually sell separately for use with other cams such as the XHA1.

Good thing they have the EX-1 to support their camera industry, these new HDV cameras seem like a poor choice by sony, they should have made a new ex-1, not a new fx-1.

EX1 is a great camera, but its much more advanced than most prosumer items. HDV is an easy bridge into HD in a familiar format to pro/advanced ametuer users. With HMC150 and scarlet coming out, things will change but regardless, HDV still produces amazing images simply and inexpensively.
