I talked with Wes from the tour about the Boulder and Foco tour dates about the TBA. He said they had a bad turnout previously and could not get a retail location near the area to host the event. So Boulder and Fort Collins tours have been cancelled. DNA stops for 3 days in Denver in November though.

Your best bet is to hit up the denver event, its hard for us to justify to shops to pay for the tour to come out when only 10 kids show up total. For some reason the majority of Colorado kids aren't willing to try the system they just show up and look at it and say that looks Sketchy ("I'm scared"). I've literally seen four year old kids hit it and 10 year old snowboarders go front blunt 270 out on every rail. I guess people forget its about fun, regardless of the inrun

why not put on the free event $40 is way to high to hit a set up on rollers.

I'll tell you what, take three pick up trucks towing heavy trailers, one near capacity. drive across the country and back all summer long and see how much that costs. Then when you're done make the contest free so that every single Gomer with a plastic snowboard within a hundred miles shows up and want to ride so you only drop once . Then see if you're still stoked on free.
The price does two things. A it helps the shops pay for our gas (we don't take the money from the contestants the shop does, which helps them pay for us to come out)
B it keeps the amount of contestants low enough that you can actually get a decent amount of riding in. I know the price is high, and we would like to bring it down but at this point with 4 dollars a gallon it has to be a realistic amount.
DNA isn't in this tour to make money off of it. they are in it so you guys can all ride during the summer or in this case fall, when there really isn't any snow or a decent park locally yet. and hopefully you'll be stoked enough on the event that you will look at DNA and realize this is a company that is putting their money back into the industry in a way I can actually enjoy instead of just paying for a contest only pros will go to and you just watch on TV, so maybe the next time I need a jacket or pants I'll get it from a brand that supports my hobbies and makes bulletproof gear. But at the same time like any business project it has to be realistically feasible and somewhat self sustainable.
That being said the Expos probably aren't going to be $40 bucks a pop, but cheaper for a few reasons I'm sure you don't care about. But my main point is sometimes paying for something has some benefits that aren't quite tangible but are still there. I'm not trying to hate on anyone here just put you in our shoes, and give you some perspective on the matter. every urban rail jam I've done that was free you only got to drop twice all day because the snow melted and there was a million kids. Rollers don't melt unless you're in a lava pit, and at that point you're screwed anyways. if you come to one of our events you will get 20 times as many drops if not more and you will be riding for usually over 8 hours if you pay.

point taken, I was not singling your event on purpose but simple bringing up the idea that some of us have the resources to host a free event in the summer sometime.

If you or anyone you know would like to host an evolution tour event and have it free, PM me and I can get you talking to the right people. even if you're not interested I'm all for any rail jam regardless of price if it gets people riding then its the sickest thing out there.

haha my friend was in that last year being barely able to hit a rail and I think he got second in fort collins... def. not enough people with park skills to really put it on. Detention was pretty decent this year though.

the problem was it was in the summer, all the skiers from CSU were gone.
All times are Eastern (-5)
