I can guarantee K2 skis are made better and last longer than Moment skis. Hand pressed by skiers doesn't mean its good. K2 can charge more because people pay more, Moment would charge more if people would paid more for there skis too, but they wont. Honestly who would even pay more than $400 for a pair of ski? That's retarded.
Let me break this down for you here:
People, overall, are buying less skis because of the economy, blah blah blah. The people who continue to buy skis, especially at retail prices have more inelastic demand and will continue to buy them even if the price increases (These are the kids who buy new $500 park skis every year or the weeked warrior who buys $800 sticks every other year). Even though they are selling less skis now they are trying to maximize their profit by selling less, but raising their prices.
You want them to lower their prices and pass their savings on to you? Start buying other, non K2 companies' skis.
Learn some fucking logic. You sound like someone who has taken a semester of college, picked up a small amount of words to throw around and think they understand everything.

Yes gas prices would go down throughout the world retard. There would be more supply and commodity traders would drive prices down since supply would rise, all else held constant. If they allowed ANWAR or offshore drilling today, then current and future commodity prices would go down today (not necessarily a good thing). The current prices reflects future supply in the price; more supply creates a lower price today. How fucking stupid are you? That midwest education shines through again.
And the skis market is not like the oil market, at all.
Skis are not a natural resource, skis are not run by an oligopoly and don't have any form of collusion, skis do not have a finite supply, there are current alternatives, demand is not severely inelastic, skis are not an integral part of people's lives or the global economy.
Think about something before you open your mouth and spew ignorance.

Are people getting stupider, or are people just fucking with me here?
If skis could not be bought for under $2000, very, very few people would ski. I wouldn't and even less people would start. You could claim that you would, but you wouldn't.
If gas were $20 a gallon, I and nearly ever other person would still have to fill up.

NO! FAG!
all of us everyone would just not buy gas on Wednesday, and the oil companies would go out of business forever.
