WTB: Editing Computer-----Perferably Mac

Ok so i am looking for a new editing computer because I am moving into hd editing and my older hp media center isnt going to be able to handle it.  I am thinking of a powermac or maybe a macbook or macbook pro depending on specs.  Msg or post.

Build a PC.  I'm a designer and a huge Mac fan, but for high end, you'll get more for your money if you build a PC yourself.  I just dropped about $2000 putting together a dual Xeon quad-core setup.  The PowerMac equivalent would have been around $3500.

If it HAS to be a Mac, look into a used G4 or even a G5.

i use the macbook pro right now for architecture school, at home i have a quad core 2.4GHz overclocked to like 3.6 and 4GB of RAM with 1TB of hard drive space and it fucking rapes. almost 1GB of RAM for my graphics card as well and editing is incredible, i spent like $2600 including monitor and so i highly recommend newegg.com to order your stuff and if you have questions with compatibility for your specs, pm me and im sure i cna help out. hope this helps - if you got similar specs on a mac or dell, price is wayyy higher. you are just paying for the brand.
