Has anyone skied 'em. I searched for info, but I couldn't find anything. I bought a pair of the 191's and I will ski them regardless of what anyone has to say, but I was just curious. I think they have the stiffness I was missing in my Hell Bents. I feel like they will be a better ski for conditions other than, but also including, powder. I really enjoyed my Hell Bents, and I am torn as to wether to sell them or not, but they were very soft feeling. Anyway, I would love to hear any opinions. Thanks.
good luck with any warranty issues. generaly libtch like all mervin brands have good tech and make good boards/skis. they just tend to break easily and then they are a real pain to deal with on warranty.
Thanks guys, but I was really hoping someone out there has skied these bad boys and could tell me what they think. I know they are brand new, but I figure a few folks must have got on a them at a demo or some shit like that.
no, last time I checked he was no homo. not that I checked, just a guess.
However they might send some thugs affter me. They did send thugs to a certain board shop when it went out of business to steal their boards back. (the shop owned the boards, libtec showed up with some thugs and basically said give us our boards or else...)
yea thats the point. they did that. It's part of the reason why the shop I work with does not carry mervin products, the other reason is that they are a pain in the ass to deal with when it comes to warranty issues.
Remember there are always 2 sides to evrey story. The shop I deal with has had nothing but great service from mervin. I know this for a fact as my friend of 9 years, as well as my housemate, owns the store.
a rockered ski with magnetraction pretty much sounds like the best thing ever. Any info on prices? I saw the online catalog (http://www.libtechnas.com/0809_NAS_catalog.pdf) but couldn't find any pricing..
Suggested retail on the ReCurve's is $900. Backcountry has them for a few dollars below that. Most of the other places I have seen them are right around $900.
I don't understand the sudden increase in price from Lib Tech at all. Last year all of the skis were the same price.
As far as stiffness is concerned, whoever above said they are like 2 x 4's must be weak. They are not stiff by anymeans. I am referencing my pair of 07/08 Freerides here and they are softer than my old Scratch BC's.
And I also agree that Lib makes great stuff with innovative technology and an interesting approach to the ski world. But the skis chip like no other. The topsheet from last year's skis is minimal, hopefully they have stepped it up this year.
Chances are they never paid for them. Thats probably why they went out of business. All of the stuff is purchased on credit with the companies. Libtech probably was in need of boards they had so they went and reclaimed them. There is really nothing wrong with it.
