Worst thing ever happened to you on a t-bar or poma lift ?

mine is when i was on a t-bar with this realy good skier when i was learning and he was on his phone i fell knocked him and he droped his phone

once at this small mountain i was on a t-bar with my friend and just at the end of teh ride where it gets steeper the people in front of us a dad and daughters t-bar line that attached it to the cable snapped, my friend and i could not stop laughing

I was at this old ski area with a friend who snowboards but hes really bad at it and it took him like a hundred tries to get up the hill on the T-bar. Eventually the liftie gave him this little plasic ski thing for his unstrapped foot so he could balance fowards.

It was really, really funny for me to watch even though I kinda felt bad

I was about 8 skiing at Lake Louise, I was going up the summit poma, there is one part that gets really steep, I fell on it, but hung on till the end of the lift.
It was quite an ordeal

One time like 5 years ago i was riding up the T-bar behind these gapers well they all fall down and dont let go so there making it jerk around. Well i end of falling also. I was trying to get my pole that i droped and when i turn back around. BAMMMMM i get nailed by a T-bar Right in the face. I got a black eye haha.

When I was young and first started skiing I was going up this T-Bar and I went off to the wrong side. Me being like 7 or 8 with no poles tried to pathetically scamper quickly across between the bars made it about halfway some prick lets go of the bar right in front me and it smoked me in the side of the head. I didn't go on a T-Bar for like 5 years after that.

 ridin the tbar and some fat guy ahead of me got on. it was icy you know like you can penguin slide on your stomach the whole way down. anyway  it got to a steep part and he lost his balance, fell backwards and started sliding towards me. he was huge and i wasn't going to be able to save him and he slid right by and took out too little kids behind me . oops.

Last year i was a stoneham and i was go up with the t-bar in siwtch position so a patrol says me to turn in mormal so i turn ... He wasn't move cuz he was thinking i gonna get switch like 3 second after. so i get switch just for get him pissed So he start to shout at me and i was shouting at him and it was a beautiful days but my tail hit somethings and i fell in his face. But he was laughing so loud he was like 100 meters down and i heard him. i was so embarassed.

So the lesson is that never try to get fresh... it's dangerous !!!

I tried snowboarding for a lil while and on my first day on a board think like my third run ever my friends took me up the poma lift, i could barely turn at this point and that first big jerk on the poma lift caught an edge and went to my ass, got dragged half way up the hill trying to stand up then lost my grip and head to walk away and strap up half way up the hill, probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, i wanted my skis back sooo badly right then

it was ski club and this chick who has huge knockers was in front of us(we didnt know) and so my friend starting talking about her and he was like "did you see emilys tits like WOW" and she turns around and just kinda stared..... and we were like fuck.... kinda a funny story

nothing has happend to me on a t-bar, but once some friends ahead  of me where messing around and I had to pick up a ski, and pole and I think something else on the way up, they made it up fine haha.
for me, on a poma lift my leggs hurt like hell when I was teaching a friend how to ski, so I sorta was laying down not watching ahead of me, and my edge cought something and I fell off half way up, felt stupid infront of my friend haha.

thats tragic

one time at breck my friend next to me on the bar fucked up and fell off and it fucked me up and i fell off too and then had to hike the rest of the way to the top in like 60+ winds and a pretty gnarly slope. theygot frost bite on their cheek because of it.

First time riding one at breck i fell like 4 times in a row because I didnt understand not to sit down haha.  They sent me to the end of the line I was so ashamed!

Oh and at copper, my snowboarder friend who for some stupid reason was using flow bindings fell on the way up.  He held on until the last little bit, but then the back of his binding cought the snow and fell off.  His board shot down thehill and he was stranded.

i tried to get off the tbar at the top but when it lifted up at pulled up my jacket and i was stuck to it and i fell over and i was dragging through the snow and the guy at the top didnt see me and i was like OH SHIT IM GONNA GET PULLED THROUGH THIS ROPE AND THE TBARS GONNA FUCKIN EXPLODE.

but its a power thing and it shut off the tbar when i went through itttttttttttttttttt

Haha my snowboard friend fell off that last year. I was laughing my ass off. I didnt get off it though because it was a powder day so i told him i'd meet him at the bottom lulz.

i always push my friend into the pricker bushes on the side. lol

but this one time my friend was ahead of me on a snowboard and this kid in front of him on a snowboard fell on the steep part and was kneeling so his board was like a wall dug into the snow. my friend doesnt even try to move out of the way and he hits this kids board and fell flat on his face. it was so funny

Yeah that T-bar on one of the bowls at breck is vicious, it broke down one time when I was on it and a storm rolled in and in was howlin like crazy till they fixed it

I ran into a rope tow when I was 6 and clotheslined myself. The lift op on the tow thought I was dead and charged up the hill screaming.

me and my mate were riding a t and were going up a steep bit when the t bar broke down. we stopped, but then everyone started going backwards, it was prety crazy, evry1 was falling off everywhere but we were the only ones on twinnys so we rode switch till we crashed into some people who had fallin off. we saw the funny side of the situation, not many other people did

at my hill we have a j bar that goes to the top of the pipe and rail park, there r always these little fuckers who ride it and always fall off and they have to stop the whole thing, it pisses me of so bad and even worse is all they do is ride right down the center of the pipe

One time I was dragged up the entire length of the t bar painfully, then when I got dragged to the top I got continuously pummelled with t bars, which was equally painful, until I crawled to safely, covered in bruises.

i was like 12 and was showing off trying to ride switch behind the T-bar like holding onto the back of it...so as i was coming back around i let go and it came up and clocked me in the chin...i bit clean through my lip and started just spitting blood and crying...long story shirt...skied down wit a ski patrol guy...went  into ski patrol place...went to hospital and got 3 stitches

i have seen a little kid get taken out by a huge snowboarder at a cross cut that intersected the tbar. it was one of the funniest things i have seen.

There was about a 40minute queue to a T-bar at my mountian because one of the main chairs broke down and two guys were going up about 5m in the t-bar snapped.  They had to go to the back of the line and wait again.

Also when we were little we used to get 8people on a t-bar until one day the t-bar broke and our coach forced us all to walk up.

When i was little. I thought it would be more comfortable putting the t bar between my legs riding it alone. I fell and well it was a painful drag up the hill for a good 50 ft.

Me too man. It was about 9 years back and I was riding the summit poma at Lake Louise, and maybe 10 metres from the top, I wasn't paying attention and boom. Luckily, I was close enough to the top, and I hiked it. The embarrassing thing was I was with the avalanche patrol man (the one who blasts mountains) at the time, and he was guiding me through the pistes.

When i was in Davos i was riding one of the T bars on the Pischa, we saw this untouched powderfield and decided getting off was out only option to get to it, he was heavier than me and he got off first, i didnt think about countering for the difference and got flung foward and faceplanted, it hurt.

really early one season a few years ago me and a friend rode up a t-bar. close to the top it went over a pretty flat part and then straight into a really steep hill. this part usually get snowed in, but this was really early season. the rope coming from the wire sure wasn't long enough, so we both got lifted off the ground. we dangled in the air for a few meters, and then e started spinning because i was heavier then him. we crashed into the steep hill tails first, his ski snapped and i bent a pole. the guy behind us managed to jump off before got airborne, and his bar hit me really hard on my forehead and cracked my goggles. The lift closed as soon as we told the operator. that's the only bad memory i have from any t-bar...

My homie and I were getting ready to ride the tbar to the top of breck.  we get in line behind this dude and his girl. she was obviously the less experienced of the two and he was trying to show/convince her that it would be really easy for her to ride up on her snowboard.  he proceeded to show her how to put the t between her legs so she could ride up sideways without taking a foot out of the binding.  I see that this girl is mad sketched so I tell my friend that we should wait a bar or two because she is obviously going to fall before we get to the top. 

We make it about half way up and this chick starts tracking all over the place...eventually she tracks right into one of the lift supports.  It stops her dead in her tracks.  The tbar that is between her legs doesn't stop at all.  It builds up pressure like a giant rubber band.  It finally yanks her from the back side of the lift support and launches her about 40+ feet in the air right in front of us.  She is rolling down the windows like mad trying to not get killed and just plops flat on her back.  She obviously was not ok.  The funny thing was her bf was in front of her so he didn't even see it.  Since he didn't see it he didn't stop.  I'm guessing they broke up soon after that....

i have been going up a t bar switch and let a pole dangle behind my back which dug into the ground and pegged me in the ass, broke, and caused me to fall off.

completly unrelated but out here in the east we have a shitton of rope tows and they fuck up all my gloves and [rant] i freakin hate it when little kids cant hold on to the rope so the bend over on it and pull it down to make it easier for them to hold onto it which in turn makes it 10x harder for me to hold onto it because its 1 foot off the ground. [/endrant]

not me but what i saw but i was at this smaller mtn called harper mtn one time and this one girl in front of us had one of those plastic snowboards like the ones you buy at toys r us or wal mart and she kept trying to get on the tbar with her friend she kept falling and falling it took her like five times then i think she gave up

at COC my leg got caught and right up at the top where you go towards the park i couldnt get off i got stuck going up the really steep part. it was dragging me by my ski, i knocked over a few people and the kid who was next to me. it was so embarresiing
