People are freaking out because mccain is basically another bush and we don't need another bush in office.

well mccain's wiling to extend the war for another 100 years if he needs to, how old are you? because if he does extend the war, there will most likely be a draft, causing you to be forced to go to war and then shot in the face by some iraqi when you're 18 years old, does that sound fun? i think now you do care about who gets elected unless you're too old to get drafted

I'm adamantly against any sort of draft but mccain doesn't literally want a war for 100 years. He does think we may have a presence there for 100 years but we still have soldiers in germany and ww2 was 60+ years ago. I actually don't agree with mccains foreign policy for the most part but you are painting an inaccurate picture of what a mccain presidency would be like. Statements like that show how uninformed the average voter is.
Mccain and Obama are definitely far from perfect but they should be a bit better at least than the current administration.

lol i really agree wit hthe title of this thread. im for obama, but only because im not for mccain, i just wish there was an independent party or SOMETHING different than the usual crappy race between merely "ok" candidates. i listen to all these speeches and all this trash talking in the elections. and history shows that when candidates are making all of these promises NOW and then quoted on them 2 years later when either one is in office, they're always littered with empty promises and visible examples of how intent isn't matching up any longer. lets face it. no one man, mccain oR fucking obama's MLK appeal is going to be able to change what GWBush has laid out for us to repair in the future. you dont just fight this war on borrowed money, let the economy spiral into obvillion, and redistribute the wealth... and expect it to all fall back into place 1 term later because of who you voted for. all the crap obamas talking about wanting to do, yes it'd help and believe me, it'd be ideal, lol. but i doubt the majority of it will be visibly contributing to positive change for at least 2 years into his term. mccain makes all the same promises too only because thats the issues that people are voting on, not because of that being what he actually wants to do. intent is great, but then you need to get your ideas past the senate and the house, not always easy... especially considering the majority of THOSE people are newly elected via GWBush (asshole) and obama plans to severely clash with those people? i bet someone will have a serious talk with him about how much senate uprising he'll cause if he really wants to be able to make the "middle class citizen who merely does his job in hopes his life will be ok" be able to retire a millionaire. all that sounds like fantasy bullshit. this is still america, you work hard, you get paid, its about the money, and its fucking.... hard to get rich... and its never going to be about what the govt can give back to you, especially ours in america. the obama "fill your tires correctly with air monthly policy" is a taste of things to come.

i'm not old enough to vote so there you have it but i feel as though mccain's presidency could lead to a draft, nobody can say whether or not it will, that's simply pointless speculation, but it's a possible outcome and i sure as hell don't want to get drafted, i give a flying fuck who's president because i agree with most of obama's policies and plans, and i do agree with you that any situation is better than the one we're in now, bush is a horrible president and i feel as though he's contributed to most of the corruption in his administration

Im 17 and wont be eligible to vote until the next anyways. I wouldn't classify myself as ignorant but i don't really care. I don't see the need in spending my time trying to figure everything out about each candidates. I am familiar with both backgrounds and am interested to see who wins but no matter what my beliefs are for each candidate it still wont change the fact on who will win.
*But I strongly believe that if you are 18 and don't vote then you have no right to criticize either candidate because you didn't vote and didn't use your right to vote

I totally agree with you on this fact. But the average voter is uninformed because most of what the average voter sees is tv commercials of one candidate bashing the other. and even if the avg person watches a debate, they are so confusing. why cant there be a resource that explains what each candidate stands for? like example (This is an example, i am not saying any of these facts are true or correct, it is just an example)
Obama
For:
Health Care for everyone
Troops out of Middle East
Tax Cuts for low-mid income
Against:
Abortion
Continuing the war in Iraq
drilling in Alaska
McCain
For:
Tax cuts for the rich
Keeping the troops in Iraq
Drilling in Alaska
Against:
Pro Choice
United Health Care
Tax cuts for low-mid income
If there were a resource like that, that was clear cut and stated the facts then people could be informed before they vote.
I am voting for Obama because I dont like McCain. I think we need to get out of Iraq now, we are not doing anything by being there except putting our young men and women in the line of danger for no reason. But also becuase I livein Mass and our deligates are going to vote democrate no matter what....

People like the creator of this thread are the reason why this country is on its way down the drain. This is the single most important election in the history of the United States at such a critical time in the world, and you just don't care. I don't really care who you vote for or if you can even vote, but you definitely should give a flying fuck. People like you are the reason why George Bush was elected in the first place. Grow up and take the time to learn something about the candidates and the world today and you will realize how much this election matters.

go to your local college, find the political science professor, and ask them if your vote counts or matters. then shut up and stop hyping up Barack O'doesnthaveanactualplan. All he says is Time for Change, and Hope, but he has yet to address how he will do either, because the answer is, he won't change anything, and he won't bring hope. fucking get off his cock. it should be noted I am not a mccain supporter.

Oh and people who can vote and don't, should be deported to...i don't care where...but if you can vote and don't you are a selfish disrespectful waste of life. do you know how many people have given their lives (and not just in the iraq war, but in any war ever fought by the US) so you have the right to vote? and the "i don't want jury duty" excuse is lame and it is a cop out for being lazy.
