Salt Lake/Northern Utah restuarants

Been here for just over a year now and the restaurant selection is pretty poor.


I'm looking for a rib house. I've been craving this god forbidden food for months and haven't been able to find any legit place.

Anyone have any suggestions or other recommendations on good places to eat in the SLC area?

i dont know but theres a dank sanwich shop right when you enter provo, its soooo good

There's a lot of good restaurants if you look around a little.  Don't know about rib places though, not really my thing.

We've done Flemmings before and it was really nice

Have you ever been to Mazza?  It's a Lebanese/Middle Eastern place - there's one at 9th and 9th and one at 15th and 15th.  That's one of my favorites.

there is a barbecue joint on ft union, i think its called joes?? its on fort union and next to union park aves. 
acme burger downtown has the best burgers around
pf changs on 3s 3w is the dank chinese,
there are 2 good italian spots near there too.
red rock also in that same area has really good food and they brew their own beer.

market street grill also in the same area (3s 3w)is known for their seafood.
the best sandwich ive had is at general gritz at snow bird.
the best and cheapest on mountain dining can be had at collins grill in alta, once the resort opens. though i hear the chef is moving to jackson hole for this winter, so we will see how that ends up.

you must check out pats bbq.

 its in slc just off the corner of 21st s and west temple.  its down this little side street in this industrial looking neighborhood.

it is fantastic bbq. they have great ribs, pulled pork, chicken, beef briskets, delicous beer, and usually live music.

it's open Monday - Wednesday from 11am to 3pm; Thursday and Friday from 11am to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm; and Saturday from Noon to 9pm

also red iguana, on n temple west of the city, is delicious mexican food with bomb ass guac.

and check out squatters brew pub. its on broadway just west of state or so, they obviously have beer, but the food is really good and it's kind of classy.  the brunch on the weekends is super good, and they have this covered porch out back if the weather is nice.

There's a handful of good restaurants at Trolley Square, including Desert Edge Brewery (they have a coffee stout right now that's freaking amazing, and their regular beers are all sweet too...they also have good food and cheap prices) and the Trolley Wing Company (nothing but beer, brats, and wings - best wings I've ever had, and I'm from western NY).
