so i just finished up 1/8th of some pretty bomb nug, and i happened to find 2 seeds in the baggy. One of the seeds i accidentally flicked away in my stoned excitement, and the other i managed to save. I figure i'll give outdoor growing a try, but first im germinating the seed. I sandwiched the seed between 2 moist paper towels and then put it on a plate, and then enclosed it with another plate. I put it in a dark, hot, humid corner of my attic, and I'm just wondering about how long does it take to sprout into a jolly little plantling? As soon as it sprouts (if it does), I'm gonna put it into some fertile Wisconsin soil and see what happens. How long does it usually take to grow, and then bud?
give it a day or two and it should sprout a bit, at least thats been my experience, as for throwin it into the outdoors now, well man i dunno if u got the time to have any significant crop growth before the fall chill setlles in and then ur plant is as good as dead, hot humid lots of light FTW. get an indoor setup and some chill rents and u'll b straight
its wayyyyy too late in the year to grow outside...it takes over 2 months for alot of plants to even start their flowering phase which is when they bud....if the seed you have isnt a dead one which many are, it should only take about 2-3 days to sprout, but as i said again, to grow outside you need a good 3 months of 80 degree weather and alot of humidity
ya it will take a couple days but if i were you i'd just get a indoor set up and do it that way... lets just hope its not a male seed and it would never harvest but if it sprouts put it in a pot and have it out in the day light while you go to work or school and so thats from 8 or 9 am to 6 at night and put it in the closet or where ever for it to be in the dark...but hydro it for about 2 or 3 weeks and start putting it out in the light
just put it under a few cheap CFL lights on an 18-24 lighting schedule, then after a month put it on a 12 hour schedule, should be able to get a few grams...
the only way to tell if a seed is good is to put it in a cup of water....if its good it will sink, if its dead it will float....i have a plant in my attic and its been growing since june and its still not flowering...it does take a long time, and any issues with temp, light, etc. can stress the plant out and prolong flowering and decrease the overall bud yield
