whenever I go to a handrail speed is always the main issue. What do you people use to get speed for urban jibs?

use a car with a rope tied to it, use a bike with a rope tied to it, two people can yank you on a rope really fast, two people can run next to you while holding your poles and pulling you, be creative. or just pile up an in run if there is something to pile it on to.

we've used picnic tables, bleachers, car tow-ins, wood start ramps, start ramps built from the top of a car, pole whipping people works but ive seen several pairs of poles broken that way, and stair cases above the rail are always convinient.

If someone has a pick up truck, use the bed to pole, and set up a piece of ply-wood off the bed for a slope. Other than that, tow ins, and dragging with ropes and people.

oh man this is a good subject.
here at the michigan militia training grounds, we preffer to use john the mule(getting pushed by your friends), also car tow ins(by none other than john the mule's car),but the latest and greatest form of an inrun, is none other than the PULLY
oh yes, a pully, and a 1or2 hundred foot rope. just think about it. get creative with a car, a pulley, and a rope. some bolting with climbing gear may be required.
just let that one linger for awhile.

What we did was: we put a board up against a car and a wood rack ontop of the car (no scratches on car)and then a latter up to the top of the car. Then you have a starting ramp. Worked good ! but put the car close so you don't loose speed in the runway.

^thats what we have done with an s10 and a tacoma, you can eather start in the back of the truck, or on the roof. good for times when you have no room for a tow in.
