STH12/STH16 -- Binding Help

I'm picking out bindings for my 09 Armada T-Halls and found the STH 12s and STH 16s on untracked.com. Weird thing is that theres only like a 40 dollar difference between the two (both 09). I thought STH16s would be a lot more but apparently not, why are they so similar in price when one has a DIN of 16 and the other 12?

Basically i'm kind of confused, and although i'll probaly never set my DIN to 16 i'm tempted to just go with the sth 16s because theres so little difference in price. Help me out NS. I'm 6'2 170 if it makes a difference.

deffinilty get the 16's, they are a waya better binding, and with only a 40 doller dif.  definitly hop on those.  and with your size you can at least have the option to make your din higher

Sth 16's will make your ski more valuable if you ever look to sell it (or sell the bindings seperately). Personally I have no intention of having my park ski dins set high enough to warrant the 16's.

The STH 16 killed it last year and them shits sold out by Christmas. I remember dudes slanging those binders for over $400 and people paying it!

I say get the STH 16 for sure. It definitely gonna be harder to come by later in the season and like Dave said, it's really gonna help your resale value.

For the DIN settings, the only flaw Salomon didn't realize was that the STH 16 had a DIN range of 9-16 and based on skier charts, this only included guys like myself, over 6 foot and over 200lbs. This explains the introduction of the STH 14 this year.

If you ride your current DIN on 9, then go with the STH 12's. I always shied away from riding my DIN's at complete min or complete max. If you're anything over 10, go with the STH 16's

yeaaa i ski  8,-10 i'm not hitting anything over 40 so it's not that big of a concern to me. This is where it gets tough haha, i know i could sell my setup for a whole lot more if i had 16s but i'll probaly go with 14s or 12s. Thx for the info.

Just pony up with the 16's, they'll allow you to progress into them a lot more than the 12's

with your size, i'd say go with the 16's.  the only issue is that you'll probably have to bump up your setting to like 11 (no spinal tap pun intended).  i have the 16's on all my skis and i love them.  i guess even at 10 you'd be alright.  go with the 16's for the resale value alone.  you'll be stoked.
