After effects help getting rid of white x?

so basicly theres a white x through the screen. whenever i turn the fx button off it goes away. but when i do that unfourtunaly so does my fancy light streak.

it wasnt happening on another shot i did and i just kinda noticed it while i was making keyframes but thought nothing of it. also the eye on my particles layer (the thing to hide layers on and off) isnt the same as the other eyes.

any help its probably really simple but im so tired and pissed from trying to make these things work i cant figure it out.
