Camera for this winter

Hey guys, So I'm thinking about getting a camera for this winter.  I want an HD but not a professional camcorder such as the canon XH-A! because of the price(unless someone will sell me one for cheep)  if I could get some input that would help alot

The XH-A1 is not a true HD camera.

Depending on how experienced you are with cameras and what your computer can handle with editing would help us decide on what to tell you to get.

well I've used friends cameras before and I've done alot of filming, my computer can probably handle most editing software.  This is going to be my first camera but I want something that I can use for a while that has good quality and not to difficult to use(I want to be able to just pick it up and go).

hard to get an HD camera for under 1000$ but the sony HD works great. Never used one but i heard to stay away from JVC
