Replying to Camera Repair... HELP!

alright so I've been trying to sell my VX2000 on ebay but the mic is broken so no one has been interested, I decided to try to take it to a camera repair shop and they want 100$ down payment for the diagnostic alone, then 75$ an hour after that so it sounded like they were saying it was going to be ATLEAST 175 bucks which it will probably be more. anyone have any suggestions on somewhere I can send my camera that is reliable and will be cheaper? and my camera also has a loose viewfinder ribbon so it flickers sometimes, I was thinking of maybe getting that fixed too while it's getting worked on so I could sell the camera for what they've been going for on ebay. I figured that if the camera was in full working condition I could sell it for like 500$ more than what I've been trying to sell it for (because I was selling it dirt cheap) but I won't know how much the repair is gunna be until I've already commited 100$. any ideas on where I can take it or whether or not I should just drop money on it would be much appreciated!
