who really is now anyways? I mean you get your small ski improvements here and there but that's nothin too special. Give the ski a little more pop, a little more control, w/e, I'm talkin like the new innovations.
I'll give props Rossi for the slant sidewall idea,
and to K2 for the extra thick edges for durability, and especially to the late season release 'fugative' (if the rumours are true) that will have flex points in front and behind foot for easy manuals,
and of course salomon for making the second tip way back when i was just a youngin,
and especially Line, even though they got nothin yet, their intent is in the right direction with the pivogy binding, four-hole pattern, the recent post about the removable piece underfoot (true or not I don't know), and the first to really have interesting graphics.
But what the hell has salomon come up with in the last few years, nothing special as far as I'm concerned. they're one of the richest ski manufacturers out there, I would expect more from someone like that.
and of dynastar? sure I hear the troublemaker is a sick ski with mad pop, but they've never come out with anything groundbraking as far as I know, (if I don't know something feel free to mention it) They don't even make anything else, at least Salomon can claim they have a huge industry to cover and produce for, but dynastar is basicaly just skis, what else do they have to innovate for??
4front and Armada are just new and i hear the product is pretty good so you can't put anything on them yet, it wouldn't be fair.
But I could mention the rest of them doin nothin much as well like volkl, head, atomic, etc, but you all get the point. My question is, who should you support in a growing industry like ours? Sure some companies have good products, but I'd like to see the money into the companies that are really trying to progress our sport. Does anyone know of anything new coming out from any of the names I ripped on? (Just some stuff I was wondering about that I thought would make a good topic)
