Replying to Indestructible Backpack!

This winter when I hit the slopes I really want to be able to bring my camera along. I have a Canon Rebel xti which takes some really nice pictures depending on the conditions (when it’s too cold it takes forever to snap the shot). Although the quality of the pictures is top notch, the camera is simply too big and bulky to be carried around my neck and my current carrying case isn’t much better, and when I’m on the hill I’m always worried about falling and breaking the thing. I am wondering if there is such a thing as an indestructible backpack? The image in my head is of something small and streamlined, with a compartment made of a resilient plastic like that used to make the Nalgene water bottles. The compartment would be just about bin enough for the camera, the lens, and maybe some snacks. So far I haven’t seen anything like this on the internet or at a sporting-goods store. Any ideas?
