HDPE rail/box

So i found two strips of 6 foot long, 11 inch wide hdpe in my backyard. I unscrewed them off some sled for a snowmachine but thats beside the point. I'm trying to figure out what kind of rail to build with these. I was thinking either one 12' long 11" box, or maybe cut the strips longways in half to make a longer rail. Which one do you think would be funner? Also do i need some sort of coping? Like a couple of pvc pipes flush with it on the side? Thanks for your ideas/thoughts...

can you bend it with heat? if so flat rail to rainbow. if u could do it, and have enough speed , it would be sick.

ah a rainbow box would be uber sick, i never even thought of that. I don't need heat to bend the hdpe but i don't know what i would mount it too

You would cut two pieces of plywood in teh shape of a rainbow box and then put 2x4s every foot or so, so that when you screw the HDPE into the 2x4s that the plywood will hold the HDPE in a rainbow shape. Do you get what I'm saying?

um like bend a piece of wood with water and strength (not that hard suprisingly), if its thin wood then frame it with 2x4s, make sure to support it cuz itll be weak and then screw then hdpe down. hope that helps but ask me as i have some experience

if speed isnt an issue, you have so many possibilities. thing is, it normally is the issue. you could build a slanted on both sides rail thing, wallride (idk?), c rail, raainbow, maybe l-rail, x rail like the x games, possibilities are endless if pvc costs arent an issue nor is speed

i would cut it in half lengthwise and make a longer rail

yep cut it in half 12 feet is pretty short you'll get bored very quickly 24 feet is pretty much perfect and it's still 5 1/2 inches wide which is a fairly wide rail.  maybe make 4 6 foot rails so you could make them in to different types of rails flat down dfdf fdfd a trap rail the possibilities are endless

I really like this idea. I think i'm gonna either make it into 4 6 foot sections or probably two 12 foot sections. The 4 6 foot sections would be super fun but i think it would be hard to make it flush if i wanted 1 really long rail. Thanks for the ideas!

yea i'm kind of leaning toward that. I could make a lot of stuff with three separate rails

depending on the density of the plastic, you don't need to bend it with heat. you just screw it down to the already bent wood underneath and it will stay in that position so long as the screws are in
