Need to get a pow ski for this year. Im 6' 140 lbs, the pow skis will b mostly for trees and some bowls. There are a lot of 'good' pow skis now so which is on top?
I'm going to have to go in this order:
Sir Francis Bacon
Moment Comi
Mothership
Hellbent
If I were you, I would be looking into a ski in the lower to mid 180s, and it's not always the fattest ski that rides the best. They have to be somewhat versatile.
At your weight the Sir Francis Bacon would be killer. If this is only going to be a pow ski and you have other skis for every other day , I'd look at something with some rocker. As stated above the Hellbent or for a little more versatility the obSETHed.
179 pontoon would do the trick for you. Rockers ski shorter and there is not better pure pow ski than the pontoon. It may not rip groomers quite at well at other rockers but it works great in the pow
