Snow skins

ok i appologise in dvance if his has been done but i cant make sense of the new search thing.

how good are these snow skins? i'm guessing you probably have to tuck them into your boots which kind of daunts me and i feel would probably cause more circlation problems than they are intended to help with.

also how good are they thermally? can they be used as alternatives to thermals?

maybe im out of it, but i think you should start by describing them, or giving a brand name/model or whatever, cause i have no idea what you're talking about. after the title, i thought you were going to talk about climbing skins.

ok sorry guys... in australia they're a very common item.

'skins' are compression tights. they're designed to reduce lactic acid build up, increase circultion etc. they were originally made for normal athletics and sports but then they've brought out a 'snow skins' version with apparently less stitching around your calf area and a few other minor changes.

im pretty sure skins is the brand name but because of their success its become like the product name, if that makes any sence. a bit like 'biro' in pens (hoping thats not just an aussie one aswell).

you'll find a lot of the pros are using them to some extent. at least all the aussies i know that ride hard and regularly have been wearing them after sessions to aid recovery. so many people wear the normal sports versions under their jeans etc around town at night.

ya a bunch of people I know buy these foot baths that are supposed to detoxify your body. they spend tons of money and endlessly tout the benefits; the only problem is they don't actually work. Don't worry little aussie, stupidity and group think are universal traits
