havn't ridin blends and have only skied on 08 ARV's for 2 days but they are a really good wider all-mountain ski, they will seve you well everywhere except in the pipe.

i rode the arvs last season and they have been the best ski i have used. i tried the foils before buying the arv and i didnt like them as much. i do a lot of all mountain stuff, back country as well but i like the park as well. the arvs pretty much worked everywhere for me. they held up nicely in bowls, pow, and were easy to stomp in the park. i have no idea about the blends. the only problem about the arv that ive had is the top sheet started to chip a little bit, which some of my friends how have rode armadas had the same problem. it doesnt do anything to affect the ski, it still rides great, just makes it look bad.

which blends are you talking about? the old ones are pretty different from the new ones. this years have a 100mm waist anda are supposed to be a great all around ski. but the ARV is known as one on the best ALL mtn skis you can buy. ALL mtn meaning everything. pow, crud, bumps, park, pipe, trees... everything

blends, to me, make an a better all mountain ski. wider, stiffer (to hold up better when the snow isnt good) but still playful. the new design rules.
arvs are great, i would love to ride a pair mounted for me, and for more than a few runs at a demo. they were a lot of fun, and def could be versatile, but blends, even more so.

i loooove ARVs...but im not a small guy so i got pretty sick of dealing with the super soft tips in the cruddy snow. I'm really looking forward to trying the blends with a stiffer flex. Everything about them sounds like the total all mtn package
