MI hills

Aight yo
so im up at Michigan State first year and im from washington dc
back home i ski the pennsylvania hills and always get a season pass and what not
but i got to know cuz the people ive talked to so far dont seem to know whats good around here
what are some hills arond here that you think i should look into cuz im fiendin hard

Not too sure on this but you have boyne, bittersweet, swiss valley, caberfae peaks, and some others.  Bittersweet seems to  have a decent park up usually, and same w/ boyne.  The one time I was at caberfae they had to shut down the park cuz of lack of snow.

Be sure to check out Pine Knob. It isn't too far from MSU.
they got 3 parks, one pretty sick rail park with some decent jumps, small park, and park with some pretty good size tables (during mid-season). A lot of skiers go there too.

If you get a chance to make the trek to the UP, be sure to go to Mt. Bohemia. Hands down the best skiing I've done in the midwest.

Yeah Pine Knob is probably your best bet.  Others around you would be Brighton, Alpine Valley, and Mt Holly are also around.  Havent been to Brighton or Alpine for years but they both suck from what I remember.  I went to Pine once this year and it had like 3 parks with some nice jumps and rails.  I went to Holly once too and I thought it was pretty good but not as good as Pine.  And definitely make it to Bohemia when the snow is good.  Ive been there once with good snow which was sick, like someone else said one of the best days skiing in the midwest.  I also went there once when the snow sucked and it kinda sucked.  Got a massive coreshot and there was only like 2 runs open.

Pine knob is still a bit of a drive from lansing i think around an hour? But still your best bet. Decent park and rails, it's fun. But ill save you some time and say dont go to alpine. It is litterally a former garbage dump turned ski hill. The park is total shit and never has more than a few small rails. I remember a couple years ago we had a decent pipe and one decent sized jump away from the park but with conditions as theyve been the last couple years dont excpect that. However it is/was my home mtn and I love it to death, but it is garbage.

swiss valley has one of the nicest parks in mi its small but well maintained but thats prolly a little far for u

brighton is 30 minutes from msu.

i had a pass there last year and it was the best their park has ever been.

Brighton is garbage....

Actually, I only say that because I know it was built on a landfill. I only went there once when i was like 12 and before I got really into skiing. Although it does have the distinction of being the place I decided snowboarding wasn't for me.

Weekend raids to Nubs Nob should be considered as well. I think its 3.5-4 hours from East Lansing, but NW Michigan blows everything else away with the exception of maybe Marquette and Bohemia when its dumping.

how far is cannonsburg from kzoo? im probably going to college in that area.

wow i havent been there for ever!!! i usually jus go to bittersweet cause i like it betta than timber ridge and swiss..... tho nubs is the bes iv been to in michigan i usually get there three or four, five times a season.....

i ski at pine knob and it has decent rails and great jumps but its the most crowded in the area i go to alpine just because it has less people and i can actually get through the park without swimming in the sea of snowboarders

Ha cuz alpine has a park. I think its worth the wait at pine knob than to ski the 3 rails and 0 jumps alpine has. But hell ill be skiing there this winter anyway and if your every looking for someone to ride with let me know.

my gf rides there all the time and she said the park is really skier oriented.. i didnt know it could be specific for skiing/snowboarding but she said the jumps favor the skiers so thats a plus. ive only seen it in the summer so i dont know how good it is but its dece for downstate i guess. and it kinda sounds like the snowboarders could be slight d bags cause she said there are not a lot of good skiers there just a bunch of gapers so they dont really get along i dont really know though. where do you ski?

Ive been to cannosburg twice. Both times to race. But the park seemed decent. I don't really know how a park could favour skiers? But i would say it is above average for a hill of that size.

o u know the big ole bittersweet mostly, ah i get up to boyne/nubs a few times a year, some timber ridge and perfect, Colorado every few years or so..... but i need some new scenery
