Reno Jib 181 from 171 Invader

So my new credit card is burning a fucking hole in my pocket, time to order new gear.
I've basically narrowed my choice down to the Reno Jib. I'm really down to support the small company and since they fixed all the problems people were having last year I don't see why not. Every ski has it's problems the first year off the line.
Anyway...
Last season I was riding 171 Invader's and they felt really short. I felt like I could definitely go bigger, but I wasn't thinking past 180. Part of me wants to give the 178 Invaders a shot again since that seems like a really good size for me and Line's ski really short, but I don't want another year of sitting on my tails, skating up to rails, and waxing three times a week. The skis were just way too fucking slow, seriously fuck that shit. The only good thing is the fact that they're $299, they were still worth every penny, just SLOW.
Are the Reno Jib's going to ski short? If so, I'll go with the 181, otherwise I'll just stick with the 171. I'm kind of a small guy, but like I said I wished my 171 Invader's were a bit bigger. I'm between 5'8" and 5'9", 140lbs give or take, maybe less. Any Ideas?

its kinda lame the jibs dont come in any other sizes besides 171 cm and 181 cm.your deffinetly tall enough to get away with 181 so go for it.youll be super stoked on the ski

181s will be fine, line skis ride short because of the center mount which is also what the jibs have so they will also ride a little bit shorter than 181. they have the fastest base you can buy, which it seems like you need. i did the exact same thing as you, except i went from 161 invaders to 171 jib. they are way better quality than invaders and way more worth getting than invaders. trust me do it.

Yeah dude, I'm really psyched on the Moment bases. I miss fast skis, my Invaders would seriously make not knuckling impossible once the snow got soft. Eventually I had to wax literally every night before I went skiing if I wanted to have a half-decent time. The bases are just so fucking hard (it's cheap and durable), it doesn't absorb wax at all. You hit one rail and it slows you down big time.

You could probably get away with the 181, but its a big change from 71...
Also the skis dont compare to each other at all. Other than being symmetrical they have nothing in common. jibs ride like a 181, and they are stiff. Not 4x4 stiff, but the added length and rigidity of the ski will take some getting used to. Theyre hella light too.
Moment is a great company, customer service is awesome, skis are rad, etc etc. but they dont come out for quite a while from today. so maybe check the website.
But the 178 anthem might be better, youre pretty light. Im 5 11 200 lbs and found them perfect for me.
Just my 2 cents.

You're a liar.

So you're thinking I should go with 171's because of the flex?

go for the 181, the difference between lengths will mess with you a bit but only for about a week or two after that you will be fine.
i went from a 161 invader to a 178 anthem last year.
