Somehow i got some virus on my computer that messes with my regestry, it wont let me take this dumb background off my computer. it puts a big warning your computer has spyware on it thing on my desktop. i run spybot and it fixes the problem but as soon as i restart my computer it's back. anyone else have this problem or know how to sort out the regestry so it doesnt come back again??
I just had to wipe a machine because thats super annoying to get rid of and leaves a bunch of small bits all over. You can go piece by piece but judging by the fact that you posted this thread I would guess thats a little above your head. Anti virus and spyware will not clean it 100%
This exact thing happened to me last night, I searched around for awhile and I came across another forum which recommended that I download "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" I downloaded it (sorry I dont have a link, it should be easy to find though) and did a quick scan. The program is free as a trial and allows you to only do a quick scan rather than a full scan. Once you download it, run a quick scan and it will give you a list of all of the infected files. It will allow you to delete those files through the program, and then it will tell you that you will need to restart your computer in order to complete the deletion of all the files. This is normal, not part of the virus trying to trick you into fucking up your computer. It should restart automatically after clicking the button and you should be able to go to Control Panel
