Ive said this before and ill say it again
They come on to the ski scene get a bunch of good pros but haven proven anything yet
all they have are good riders thats it nothing else is proven yet

they are going to have a killer team.

this year they are using dynastar presses so the dimensions are the same but I heard the flex and stuff is different.  I'm curious to see how the edges hold up.  I heard they ski well.  The big thing is after next year, they will start making their own skis from scratch I believe. 

When I get a ski I mainly look at performance then look at customer service like warranty and such.  I think I am going to be getting a pair this year and will see how they ride. 

I will have a positive outlook on every ski company till I try em out.

im going no right now.
they have a huge team of good riders, but the only reason for that is cause of money
they're dynastar (or rossi, forgot which one) skis, with new topsheets.
that's not original, and neither or those companies dominate the freeskiing scene. they're in it no doubt, but they're not innovative companies and their skis don't have a wonderful reputation.

COREUPT AS OF NOW : rich company with huge corporate backing that tries to act core, and repaints dynastar skis

apologies for the double post, I dont wanna seem too negative, i just think they're overhyped because of all the pro riders they have bought
they still show potential as a company though, if they start manufacturing their own skis

correct  me if im wrong but i dont even think they had to pay candide it was prolly just in his contract with rossignol that if they were ever to form a new company he would just have to switch over.  this is a rossi/quick/dynastar/ect. company so they prolly just switched him over for marketing purposes.

bang on, this is what ive been saying as well. the two major differences between coreupt and armada are the timing and marketing of the release, both of which armada had an advantage in.

i dont know anything about them but the face that they are making a kick ass team kinda makes it look like theyre stealing riders which may make a few people not like them bu other than that i have no information about them. but i read their blog a little bit and the training camp in les tigres looked pretty sweet so i thought that was pretty cool and good for them.

New company.. new ideas.. sick riders..

I think they are backed by BMW or something... and I am a huge Beemer fan, so thats a plus... regardless of the fact that autos and skis have nothing to do with each other really...

but, having sick skiers in BMW ads on TV would be pretty sweet... just think about what that would do for the sport.



I have no idea what the product is like... and I havent heard of them being in any shops yet... and none of their reps are apparent on NS that I've seen..

Anybody actually BOUGHT some coreupts?

I think they are a company with some fresh idea´s. But for me it sucks that they are advertising so hard that all of their skis are "PROMODELS", which is bullsit cuz their skis are nothing else then dynastars. I don´t know which influence candide or tj have on a troublemaker but I think its not that big.....

Well, to be fair, it's what we've always called that binding since it came out...

I have nothing to say about this company other than it seems pretty weak that they are claiming to be a new company, when they are just a new name for an existing company.

if you're going to put a binding out on the market, for the love of god put some money into engineering, design and come up with YOUR OWN BINDING!! simply paying to use another company's design is bullshit!

I doubt they even paid for the rights to produce that binding.

It seems far coincidental that this isn't a Dynastar/Rossi company with an edgy name to try to steal back some of the "core" market.

Maybe I will be proved wrong, but until I see proof of otherwise...

nope, go back and read the old forums about Armada back in 2002 and 2003.  Pretty much stoke across the board because they were doing something no one else did or had done.  there is nothing revolutionary about what coreupt is doing...

if they didn't, you probably won't see them around long enough to bring product to market. the licensing agreement for that binding has to be massive.

it's a pretty big coincidence as well that the 2 flagship riders (Guerlain Chicherit and Candide) both just up and left the Dynastar/Rossignol empire and are using skis made on a Dynastar press and Look bindings.

this is definately not the same as when Armada started producing the AR5 in similar dimensions to the Scratch.

I think they have permission, but not because they paid for it. I think they ARE Dynastar/Rossi with a clever name.

Again, I may be wrong, but I'd like them to present some evidence that they are not.

If they truly are independent, the investor should reveal themselves, otherwise they are dynastar/rossi to me. If Candide had broken off with a few other pros to START the company and built skis and had them pressed in Dynastar's factory to similar specs, I'd say it was unique and a different company. But this is a "secret investor" with all the same big-name pros as Dynastar/Rossi had, the same equipment with "subtle changes".

The skis are likely great skis, but I don't think it's anything groundbreaking or original.

I'm ok with corrupt..

If they are backed by rossi then they are going to be sweet skiis.  Rossignol makes in my opinion the best ski out there(other than durability issues).  Look bindings are by far the best in the industry.  Sales and capitalism is all about marketing so I'm not mad at them for trying a different angle for sales.

If they aren't then its cool an indepentent company is trying to get a start but I don't think this is very likely.  At most they have independent backing and are using the quicksilver corporations factories/designs.  Either way I have nothing bad to say about them... it seems like they are treating thier riders well so far and have done nothing to make me dislike them

The problem I have with COREUPT (fucking stupid name btw), is that I really feel by creating this company Rossi/Dynastar is basically saying our customers are a bunch of morons. I really take it as a slap in the face that they think the freesking community will be stoked, and willing to shell out their hard earned cash for something that is already on the market, just rebranded to be "core". It is just downright insulting. Sadly, lot's of people probably will buy into the "coreness".  

My second problem with this company is just that the market is getting way to saturated with mediocre products. Every week there is some new upstart ski company that claims to be the next big think , and kids get all on their cocks, because they think it is cool to waste money on shitty skis in the interest of being a unique individual. None of these companies offer anything that wasn't previously offered in the market, and they often start repping and hyping their product, launching websites etc before they have even had a season or two under their belts of R&D. Basically, it is a bunch of people looking to take advantage of the ski community and make a quick buck, and it is bulllshit.

I'm ok with your first argument.  However, I wouldn't consider Look, Dynastar, Rossi mediocre products.  They are some of the best out there in my opinion.  What do you ride that's so much better?
