apparently "the one-stop-shop database will retain details of all calls, texts, emails, instant messenger conversations and websites accessed in the UK for up to two years."

um, the govt can already do this? if they wanted to spy on someone they could already do all of that. however, there is no database that records everyone, just the individuals they are targetting
