My car camping set up!

Aight, so I took a trip to the dump today and picked up this canopy for my truck.  It cost me 25$.  Im pumped to us it for ski season.  I think im going to make a ply wood raised bed thing that will go over the wheel wells so i can store stuff under it, and also so there will be enough for two to sleep.  All I need is some kind of heater that I can use to keep it warm with out killing me of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Just sucks I cant drive it alone until feb.  Oh well Ill catch the last half of the season.

I just built out my girlfirends rig for camping, very similar truck to yours.  I put in a plywood beed just above the wheel wells, and then put capet foam onto, then sealed it up with all weather carpet.  cost me under 75 bucks to do.

We tried it out in jackson this weekend, bomber and comfy.

im thinking ill put them under the the raised thing im going to make.  Ill just have to be sure to get all the snow off of them and possibly dry them to help prevent condensation.  Either that or ill put them in the cabin of my truck.

Yeah you can definitely put them underneath the bed risers. If you build correctly you can have all sorts of storage underneath thats also easily accessible.

yea man good deal my saab's a hatchback im thinking about campin out in the back of it this year just bring some blankets or a sleepin bag or something

what would work the best is to put a sheet of plywood cut to the shape of your truck bed between your topper and bed. then cover the plywood with carpet padding and marine carpet for boats. also you can get drawer sliders , like the kind for cabinets, and install those with a drawer underneath your bed so you dont have to crawl under your shelf bed

If you interested in a heater check out the coleman website, they have some heaters that I am think about getting for winter camping in the same manner you are.
