What up NSrs,

I have been getting a ton of emails and calls regarding my accident last week at Windells.  I am on a ton of powerful pain killers and I hit my head very hard, so I am not myself right now.  I have good days and bad days so I am sorry if I have not returned your messages or if I seem odd when I talk to you.  Thanks so much for your messages and I will try my best to return your messages.  If you do not here back from me it is just difficult for me to talk at times.   The doctors do not want me to move very much for a couple of weeks until they know if I need surgury on my back.  The also have me on Oxycontin so I am out of it most of the time.  Thanks again for your messages and I am sorry if I say anything unlike myself.

dude i feel that. i took morphine for a surgery and looking back all i remember is feeling like shit. it may be an opiate but when youre in a lot of pain it makes you feel shitty. just not as shitty.

Oxycotin does not take away the pain, it just makes you to screwed up to care.  They did give me some crazy shit in the hospital though.  It was a shot that lasted 20 minutes.  Best 20 minutes ever.

when i got my wisdom teeth taken out they gave me vicodin- but normal ibuprofen worked better- then i tried this stuff my mom got for her neck surgery- i took 1 pill and no pain for six hours- thenk later on that day at school i took another and overdoesed because I was eating - puked a ton and passed out for like 4 hours as soon as i got home

you completely missed the point. the oxycodone in oxycontin can be used as a substitute for heroin, but not the other way around. They are not related chemically, but rather produce similar effects.

  So, you thought that the original post that offhandedly referenced taking oxycontin as being similar to taking heroin, was meant to be a chemical comparison?  Either you missed the point, or you were just looking for an opportunity to flash your knowledge of opiates/oids.  In either case, you're wrong.  Heroin and oxycontin (or morphine and oxycodone) are indeed very similar chemically, thus the similar effects.  Oxycodone is essentially synthetic morphine that was introduced as a "less addictive and abusable" alternative for pain management. 
 
  Stupid argument...totally irrelevant, but if you are going to take a post who's meaning was perfectly clear, that being that taking oxycontin is closely akin to taking heroin, and use it as an opportunity to appear superior...well...atleast be right.

This is some funny shit.  I did not intend my thread to turn into a heated drug knowledge battle, but I have definatly learned some new stuff.  The only release I have from my current pain and pill popping festival is chatting on NS.  Thanks all for keeping it entertaining.  You are all cool MFs in my book.

If anyone out there has taken Oxycotin for an injury like I am and has any advice for me let me know.  I am a bit paranoid about addiction.  I have lost some buddies to it.

My advice is take it sparingly if you have that option. The pain may be bad, but if you can take it at your own discretion just take as little as possible. I was taking shit for a new reconstruction and shoulder replacement and barely finished half my script. Much better in the long run, though the pain was rough at times. I suggest some ganj.

You could always wean yourself off the Oxy with a bit of crack and crystal meth.

But seriously just the fact that you are concerned about addiction shows that you are treating it the right way.

just be prepared to quit cold turkey man. you may encounter small withdraws but start taking smaller doses as soon as you can for real. And dont give in to the withdraws just push through it

Thanks guys for the input and advice.  I tryed to go without pain killers today, but I am just not in good enough condition yet.  It took 4 hours to settle my pain again.  Bad move.  The worst pain is actually my punctured lung and broken ribs. Breathing hurts so bad.  I have to talk so quiet and can only lay on my back. It is my favorite sex postion at least. Ha Ha.

Fellatio works wonders...an orgasm releases endorphins which are powerful painkillers (which is usually why opiate addicts peel the eel frequently when trying to quit because endorphins simulate an extremely mild version of an opiate high).

well, i work on one of those units you were on and i have a few things to say. one, glad to see you are bouncing back that quick. and fuck your lungs and ribs, you didnt hurt your head or neck so you are almost all good.

that being said, dont take pain meds for fun, take them for recovery. what i mean by that is with a serious injury, you need to take pain meds to recover. if you dont move around, your recovery will be severely stunted. your lungs need to be fully inflated, or you will get pneumonia. you need to be able to do pt, or your bounce back will not happen. look, your doc did not write you a script that he thought you would abuse. just be responsible, follow the big cheeses orders, and you will be shredding again soon. one thing to understand is that pain meds dont always take away all or even most of the pain away. the pain meds should be enough for you to function at some sort of level where you can rehabilitate. that being said...

+ vibes and much respect. get better, and be as careful and conscientious as possible. throw down but dont fuck up your life. take this sport to the fullest, but dont take your life or limb for granted.

contin or codene?? usually only the terminally ill get oxy contin. there is a huge difference between the two......

morphine does not equal heroin, morphine is morphine, herion is comparable to oxy contin, especially if you snort or shoot it. which i reccomend trying......but you will probably get addicted the first time you snort one, so be careful.

and get better dude!
