Tanner, I don’t even know what to say. The fact that you know who I am is already a huge compliment! I think you are doing more for our sport than anyone and you are a huge influence. I am still in shock that you wrote that to me, haha.
I did not mean to make such a big deal out of this whole thing and I probably should not take stuff so seriously. Sometimes it is hard to not get caught up in little things, and I think it is especially true in the summer when most of us are really itchin to ski, waiting for snow. Looking back on it, I am sure Jacob did not mean to attack me directly and I probably over-reacted to it. I think the fact that now there are different styles and crews out there doin their own thing is really dope. Jacob is an incredible skier and I respect him for that, plus he has been around and been doing it for years. I am sorry for making a post about the Armada Interview, I should have just laughed it off.
This whole thing is part of a bigger issue though. Not everyone has to like everyone’s style or the way they ski. All that hate in the industry is fueled from insecurities anyways, and I should just ignore it. We are really lucky to have such a tight knit community filled with people who have 1 big thing in common…we all love to ski. People love it so much sometimes that they want to protect it from changing or branching off into other segments. Not everyone is the same though, and it is not my job or anyone else to make them change. I think people should ride the way they want to ride. If you don’t like a specific style then don’t ski that way. As long as you and your crew are having fun, then it is all good. I am chalking this one up as a learning experience for me.
Thanks for all the support. keep it G
