One issue that hasn't been mentioned is that Alta operates under a National Forest lease. So while they pay for their rights to the land, its technically public land. So maybe its not super fair to exlude snowboarders, which are about as close to downhill skiers as you can get (in regards to land use).
Still, it seems to me that the whole "injustice" ploy that snowboarders continue to gripe about is now more about attempting to retain the cool and legitimacy of rebellion from what has largely become the status quo.
